Connor was waiting right outside, leaned up against the wall, patiently. He flipped his quarter several times before noticing me. "Did you take the job?" He immediately asked.

"I told him I would think about it," I explained. Connor nodded, and I sighed. He seemed quite off. Uncomfortable, even.

"Are you ok-"

"Please don't take the job," Connor interrupted. "Oh...I'm sorry for interrupting."

"That's okay, Connor. Why don't you want me to take job?"

"It's selfish...nevermind."

"No...it's important. Tell me."

"If I go back, but you don't too, they'll make the Lieutenant and the Deputy stay partners. I..."

"You'll have to get a new partner, won't you? Connor...I don't know when I'll get back to work."

"But so long as you say you will, eventually...they'll let Hank and I stay partners."

"Connor-"

"I shouldn't have said anything," Connor said. "I should've just let you make the decision. I'm sorry. Do what you want."

He looked disappointed in himself.

"Connor...I was probably going to tell him no anyway.  You know Deputy Lance would kill me if I took it. It's okay...you can tell them I want a job at the police station, if that will give you Hank...but I really want to consider Jericho."

"Okay," Connor said. "Thank you, Charlotte."

"I didn't do anything, Connor."

"You listened. That's important."

I smiled. "If that's all it takes..." I chuckled. "What last name did you choose?"

"I haven't...it's just RK800 for now."

"Connor RK800. What a name..."

Connor laughed. "Well I was thinking...maybe something that fits well. Connor West...Connor Albright. I was even thinking like...Connor Dechart or something."

"Dechart? Isn't that a bit...odd?"

"Mm...I don't know. I'll figure it out," he said shrugging. I looked at his suit. It was just plain black, with his tie at it's usual length, but it was fitted just as nicely as the Cyberlife one.

"Did you make Markus get you a suit...and then get it tailored?" I asked.

"I have very specific tastes," Connor answered.

"Let's see if I do too. Is there somewhere I can change?" I asked. Connor led me down the hall a bit where there was a woman's bathroom, as well as a men's. I quickly walked into the womens. Walking into the stall, I put on the shirt and pants.

I looked in the mirror, and it was strange. Seeing myself for the first time is quite strange. The top was a long sleeved white blouse, with a small bow tied around the collar. My pants were long and black, and skin tight. I tucked in the shirt, and looked down at my shoes. Black Oxford flats.

I actually quite like this...

I put my identification in my pocket and looked at my hair. The CR400 is blonde, but I'm brunette. I wonder why they made the change.

I changed my hair to blonde.

"No way in hell," I said aloud.

I quickly changed it back to brunette, but lightened it up with a bit red now. I wasn't a redhead, but my hair was more chestnut now. I looked a bit different, but not significantly.

I walked out of the bathroom and to my surprise, Connor immediately noticed.

"You changed your hair!" He said excitedly. "I like it."

I couldn't help but laugh at how he was able to instantly notice. It went silent for a moment. I couldn't help but think...

"Connor...don't take this the wrong way but...you've spent the past month with me. Aren't you tired of me?"

"Never."

"I still think you should take some time. I need to head into the city. Handle some business," I said fumbling with the check in my pocket.

"Oh...of course, Charlotte. I'll find...something to do."

"Don't just wait for me. Why don't you go see the Lieutenant?" I offered. Connor thought for a moment.

"You're right. I'll do that," Connor answered.

And for the first time since I woke up, Connor and I went our separate ways.
