Chapter 49: Trouble follows!!

3rd person's pov

Gohan, Trunks, Tsubaki and Videl set out to Gengoro island to find the rare gem that Goku wanted. They had packed a small bag before they left for the island so they had what they needed. It would take about a day to get there, Tsubaki was very excited to go to another place. "So did Dad say why he wanted the gem?" Tsubaki looked to Gohan as they flew, "Nah, he didn't really say what he needed it for. He did say that Master Roshi had told him and Krillen about it when they were younger." Gohan explained, as his eyes stayed glued in front of him. "How long will it take to get there?" Videl asked, as she flew next to him. Gohan was to Tsubaki's right while Trunks was to her left, they had already made it halfway over West City and were heading the right direction towards Kame House.

"About two hours, which shouldn't be a problem. As long as we follow the path to the island we should be fine."

"I can't believe you made me drop my cinnamon roll!!!" Gohan and Videl looked over to see Tsubaki yelling at Trunks, who was currently freaking out. "I didn't mean to. I just wanted one. That's all. I didn't mean to make you drop it. I'm sorry, Tsu." Trunks sighed, but Tsubaki only got angry with him. He freaked out when she glared at him and took off ahead making her chase after him, which made Gohan and Videl stare at them. "Those two are so weird." Videl shook her head as the two watched Tsubaki chase Trunks, he was laughing while she was yelling at him. "Believe me, they are weird. But I guess, it's always been that way. Ever since I met the two." Gohan spoke.

"Well, when did you exactly meet those two?"

"I was about 10. She came back with Trunks the first time. We met them both after they went against Frieza and his father, somehow they knew where Dad would land. I always had the feeling that I had a connection with her. When I found out that she was the future self of my little sister, I had already felt protective of her. Even when we went against the androids. She had such a strong motive to get back at android 17 for supposedly killing me in the future. Those two have been together since I've known them and they have always been like this. So I don't really find it out of the ordinary." Gohan shrugged and smiled, before getting back to the matter at hand. "Guys!!! Stop messing around, we have to get to the island before Sun down!" Gohan shouted, as he watched Tsubaki tackle Trunks and Gohan sighed. So he flew over to them and dragged Tsubaki away from Trunks, Videl giggled as Tsubaki started wiggling out of Gohan's hold and yelling at them both.

"Come on Videl, we're leaving." Gohan called out so Videl flew over.

An hour later....

"Hey!!! Get back here, Trunks!!! I'm not done with you." Tsubaki shouted, making Gohan sigh. The four were just above Gengoro Island, "Whoa!! This is island is huge!" Videl exclaimed as her long hair blew in the wind, she was looking down at the island seeing it was filled with buildings and long roads. "So where do we start looking for this gem?" Tsubaki looked over to Gohan, "Dad explained that somewhere on the island is a small village. The chief knew Master Roshi. He says to meet up with the chief and that the chief will explain everything." Gohan stated, as he turned to his sister.

"Then let's go! What are we waiting for?!!" Tsubaki grabbed Trunks' arm and Gohan's hand flying off making them both yell out while Videl followed behind and laughed at the two boys, who were still panicking.

"Slow down Tsu, you're gonna kill us if you don't slow down." Gohan shouted, as Videl continued to laugh. "It's not funny!" Trunks pointed to Videl, as she giggled. "Hey, at least I'm not the one being dragged by their significant other." She smiled, as Trunks sighed knowing she was right. The four of them eventually made it to the village in little time since Gohan led them there, he had a map of the place. They landed softly, but managed to gather attention quickly without realizing it. "Wow, this village is so big. I never thought a village would be this big." Tsubaki smiled, as she looked around. "I think people are looking at us. It's obvious they don't get a lot of outsiders." Videl pointed out, as she nodded her head towards the crowd of people gathering.

"All right, all right. What's with all the ruckus?" An older man asked and people made a path for him. He walked forward, he had a smaller beard and stood taller than most men his age. He had a huge scar that ran across the left side of his face and his gray hair was a bit longer, it ran down to his shoulders but what stood out most was his magenta eyes. "Oh, I see we have visitors." He spoke, his low voice made everyone around him stop talking. He was the village chief, the same village chief that Master Roshi knew. "Ahh, I know... You four must be the ones that Master Roshi told me about. You've come to find that gem?" The village chief asked, "Yes sir. Master Roshi also told us that you know everything there is about it. My father needs the gem." Gohan spoke politely, "Well, that's what I'm here for. Come with me and I'll tell you everything about it." The chief chuckled and motioned for the four teens to follow him so they did. He left them to a smaller house and offered them some tea and a place to seat, "So did Goku tell you why he needed the gem?" The chief asked, setting down his cup. "No, he didn't. I'm not sure why." Gohan shook his head.

"This gem is well protected. It's in a cave far south of this village. But I must warn you... This cave isn't an ordinary cave and it's dangerous. Filled with booby traps to stop other people from stealing it." The village chief explained.
