rachel's pov

all roses die, it's a given fact once they're taken from the ground and cut from their root. but i knew exactly what calum meant, especially because the rose was made of plastic. the rose sat on the counter of my nightstand in my room, next to my photo-frames. it was a picture of all of us that night at the bar, it was great. tonight was a saturday night, and calum decided to take me out to a club, although we were meeting michael and crystal down there.

"look at you!" ashton smiled. "going out to party. and without me and bella, that's a first."

"michael and crystal are going to be there." i argued. "and let me have some fun, would you? i'm always working. tonight, it's ella in rachel's wig."

"have fun, chica!" ashton waves once i closed the door behind me.

i had an über bring me to the club. chat blanc, it was called. when i arrived, a brunette fellow with the same black button-up waited at the entrance.

"mr hood." i eyed him up and down. "you know we're off the clock, right?"

"yet you still seem to put on a show yourself." calum nods, eying me up and down this time.

"touché." i smirk and enter the club, calum trailing behind me like a lost puppy. "mikey! crystal!"

"it's almost christmas, bitches!" michael yelled.

"yes, that reminds me, holiday lines." i sighed, pulling out my phone to add to my work calendar, until it was taken from me.

"calum, give me that." i snatched at the phone.

"have a drink and dance tonight." he smiled.

"i don't dance." i sigh.

"come here, i'll teach you." he smiles, grabbing my hand and dragging me to the floor already. "you put your hands around my neck here, and mine go around your waist like this. yeah. now, just sway your hips slightly from side to side. yeah, just like that. see? you're a pro!"

"wanna know what else i'm a pro at?" i asked with a smirk as i backed away. "getting what i want."

i waved my phone in front of him as i walked back to the bar.

"you sure are something, rach." crystal laughed.

"strategy is one of my skills, what do you want from me?" i ask. "can i get a stella?"

"beer, really?" michael asked. "have fun tonight rachel, let loose a bit."

"i haven't had a beer since we all went out last at lenny's." i sighed. "leave me and my child alone!"

"alright, we're going to dance, have fun!" michael shouted before dragging crystal to the floor with him.

taking my beer, i opened my phone and added the items to my calendar like i had planned. once i did that, i cleared out my inbox and put my phone away. by this time, we'd already been at the club for 45 minutes or so, myself having just about purchased a second stella, but that was until i saw him. he was with another girl, that skanky dancing act in play. then his lips attached to hers, and one thought only played through my mind, one that i've spoken many times before. it's alright i suppose, i left and went to my office instead. i didn't want to come to the party anyway.
