rachel's pov

i don't trust easily, it's why i'm the way i am. i can't trust my family, nor my friends only because i'm scared, and i most certainly can't trust calum, because, well, he killed his own rose before it could even grow. everyone thinks they've seen my true colours, myself in its raw form of emotion. well, they certainly haven't seen anything yet. as of right now i was still sat in my office, reviewing all sorts of files since the holidays were so close.

"rach, what're you doing here?" luke asks as he enters my office.

"i could ask you the same question." i laughed.

"i was planning, finance-wise." he said. "with the lawsuit and the holidays approaching, we need to bring in as much money as we can."

"i haven't gotten the chance to speak to calum, but i have products lined up and ready to launch for the holiday season." i said. "lip pallets, eye pallets, organic mascara, and a perfume alongside a cologne."

"you just have it all figured out, don't you?" luke laughed. "say, weren't you and cal supposed to go out tonight?"

"i left." i sighed. "i mean, if you're going to ask a girl out, at least try not to hook up with another."

"he's a fucking idiot." luke shook his head. "come on, we're leaving."

"we?" i questioned.

"yup." he smiled foolishly. "you're coming to my place. we're going to watch disney movies and order pizza!"

"fine." i gave in. "want a lift?"

"sure." he laughed. "calum drove me and left me here."

"see, we can be mad at him together." i smiled, walking out of the office with luke and to my car.

calum's pov

i was tired, so extremely drunk and tired. i hadn't seen any sight of rachel the whole night, which very much worried me, even in this drunken state. when rachel has whisked her phone back from my pocket, it only made me laugh. she went back to the bar to get another beer, whilst i waited for her to come back.

she never did.

a girl attached herself to my body after a few drinks. i had thought it was rachel the whole time, i was a fucking idiot.

"i thought you didn't like dancing." i mumbled, everything hazy from the alcohol.

all i could hear was the pounding music and a higher-pitched mumbling coming from the girl. as we danced, my lips trailed into her skin and trailed up to her face. once the girl kissed back, i knew it wasn't rachel, as this girl's kiss was rough and sloppy. those coming from rachel were light, lustful, and always left me wanting more. i jumped back from the girl and made my way over to the bar. as i did i saw crystal and michael in the floor dancing, while i sat with my last drink for the night. i was completely wasted, and rachel was nowhere to be seen. i eventually settled on taking a cab home. as the cab drove me home, i began to collect my thoughts.

where could have rachel possibly gone? did she leave because of that girl that i thought was her?

i fucked up big time. i put in so much effort into proving to her that i was the right guy for her, and here i am tearing it apart myself. arriving at the apartment, i could see that luke was already home. when i stumbled in, there was one thing on my mind that my raging mind couldn't comprehend.

why the fuck are luke and rachel asleep and cuddling on my goddamn couch?
