It's You Again God

8. Know That I Am God

It's You again God,

I hear distant sounds of traffic as the neighbourhood wakes and heads off to work. There's busyness all around me but I am so blessed to be able to spend this time with You.

"He says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress."
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭46:10-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I love You so much and I am so blessed that You are with me —You are my fortress and I need these moments at the start of the day to remember this! The many activities that consume my time during the day often leave little room for being still and focussing on You. How special to know that right now I am sitting with the Maker and Sustainer of the whole earth!

""This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself,"
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Who better to focus on as the new day begins. I acknowledge You as the One who is God and Lord over all! The psalmist knew You well and took time to meditate on Your attributes and rejoice in You! I join with him as he declares:

"The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad;
let the distant shores rejoice.
Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side.
His lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all peoples see his glory.
All who worship images are put to shame,
those who boast in idols— worship him, all you gods!
Zion hears and rejoices and the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments, Lord.
For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.
Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name."

Thank You that in Jesus, I am righteous and upright in heart. All my sins are paid for in full! I can be sure that Your light is shining in me today and everyday until I come to meet You in Heaven!

I praise Your Holy Name!
