It's You again God,
The shortest day of the year is coming up in a few days time. Each afternoon, the sun is setting earlier and earlier until this day which is the turning point. The days that follow become seconds longer until six months later, the daylight is more than four hours longer! I just find it fascinating how you have made the earth to tilt on its axis so we get the four seasons which are perfect for the plants on our planet! Everything is just as You planned it to be, right down to the last second!
"To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:"
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV
But getting back to the idea of there being a turning point, I find it interesting that just as we have turning points in our year, known as the Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice, You bring various turning points in our lives too because there is a time for everything and while we live on earth, we are governed by time:
"A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace."
Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 NKJV
Thank You for all the seasons and the turning points in my life. As long as You are in control, I am happy. However, something inside of me does look forward to that day when I step away from time and enter Your Presence, where there is no more day or night, no seasons, no pain or tears and I will spend all of eternity with You!
