"Marking the first test tube, follow along with the second one and add the exact dosage to the mixture." I immediately followed what was told but then the mixture went poof.

I thought I failed but when I looked up, a huge butterfly emerged from the potion. Nice.

I looked around and saw that some of my classmates struggled to get the exact measurement kaya sa mukha nila sumabog ang mga mixtures nila. But nevertheless, others were still successful.

"For those of you who have failed, I give you 'til this afternoon to perfect that mixture. You are dismissed." We all gathered our stuff and headed out.

Tumabi agad ako kay ate Aithne habang naglakad kami patungo sa cafeteria.

"Remember what day it is?" She suddenly asked as we sat down.

"Huh?"

"It's Kaeden's birthday." Nagulat naman ako at napaisip.

Oh gosh. How could I forget?

A ringing sound interrupted my thoughts kay napatingin ako sa bracelet ko at napag-alaman na ito pala ang tumutunog.

I answered the call and Caprice's face emerged in the screen.

[It's kuya Kaeden's birthday!] Bungad niya sakin. Nakita ko rin si ate Raine sa likod niya na malawak ang ngiti.

Am I the only one who forgot? I feel so guilty.

[So anong plano?]

Tuwing birthday kasi ni kuya Kaeden, madalas nandito siya sa mystic realm at kami naman ay nasa mortal realm, kaya ang ginagawa namin ay bumibili kami ng regalo para sa kaniya at ibinibigay namin kay mom para makagawa siya ng portal para ihatid ang mga regalo namin sa kaniya.

Pero ngayon, nandito na kami sa mystic realm at madalas na kaming makapagsama-sama kaya alam kong maiiba naman ang routine namin.

"The usual." Ani ate Aithne.

[Ang panget naman. Palagi nalang nating ginagawa iyon. Sumasangayon lang naman ako kasi wala tayong choice. But now we're here, so let's up our game. Para naman makabawi tayo sa mga nagdaang taon.] This is one of those rare times wherein I agree with Caprice.

We've been doing the same thing over and over again and we just want this day to be special for kuya Kaeden. It's his first birthday with us around and not just our gifts.

"Then what do you suppose we do?"

"How 'bout a surprise party, later at the palace." I suggested.

[Tama! Tas homemade ang mga putahe para mas special.] Ooh! It's been a while since I last had homemade food. Mom's cooking is my favorite but aunt Minerva, ate Raine and ate Aithne's cooking is just as good.

"Okay, after our 2pm class, Aria and I will head to the mall to gather the stuff."

[At kami?]

"Keep Kaeden busy. He doesn't stay in the dorms here because he has to keep his act believable. He goes back to the palace after his final rounds in the academy which is by five o'clock."

[Taray! Alam na alam ang schedule. Pero teka, kami nalang ni Aria ang magsama tapos kayo ni ate Raine ang mamili ng mga kailangan kasi kayo naman ang magluluto.]

"Fine."

[Nice! Sige, kita nalang tayo mamaya.]

The call ended. I looked at ate Aithne and she gave me a confused look.
