EXTENDED SUMMARY.
ALL NADINE HARGROVE WANTED TO DO WAS ESCAPE. She wanted out of Hawkins, away from her terrible dad and twin brother, out of Hawkins and be back in the warm sun of California, and go to art school. *She tried to go visit during summer before senior year, but she couldn't afford to do so, which meant she was stuck in Hawkins, working at JC Penny.
However, things got very scary and tragic towards the start of July. Somehow, Nadine got stuck in the mess of the upside down and the mind flayer, and having to watch her brother Billy get killed. *It was awful and terrible, but Nadine couldn't help reminisce about the past, and start to realize that, is she really going to miss her brother? The one who treated her terribly? Through all the sympathy and sweet messages about how Billy was great, *she can't help but think otherwise.

— nadine is very close to max and when she sees her getting upset over billy's death she can't help but comfort and cry with her. she's also shocked and scared as well, because,,,, even though billy wasn't a good brother it's still scary to see someone get killed by an big inter dimensional monster.
— her family (excluding neil) is upset and very sad about his death. nadine should realize her true thoughts about billy's death when a bunch of their family members and people from school come to the funeral and tell her "you're so strong, he really cared about you!" and "he'll be with you everyday"
— it's honestly a short story about her realizing that maybe wasn't a great brother, but still losing someone sucks. irdk, i listened to the song and thought that it could work with this plot. i don't expect this story to be long.
— based off of requiem by laura dreyfuss. it's about a girl who loses her brother (they didn't have a good relationship) and she's confused. listen to the part's laura sings and you'll understand it better.
