EXTENDED SUMMARY
Allie Takahashi had her life planned out. Well, what she would do during the summer of 1985 and what she was studying at college.
She was going to work at Jazzercise, working the classes for extra cash. Once summer ended, she was to head to Yale, studying high school education. The next few years of her life were thought out and she couldn't be happier.
That was until the Russians came into it. More importantly, the Russian Government that were in Hawkins.
Why, oh why, did she have to get curious, stick her nose into business she didn't need to throw herself into? Why did she decide to interrogate those two boys who she caught "spying" on the girls working out? Why did she agree to help them fight Russians? Why did she decide to do this all in a pair of flats?
Maybe Allie didn't entirely understand the world she was thrown into, one she didn't believe could end up on her doorstep. But hey, at least it made her summer more interesting.
She, after all, met Steve Harrington, the once king of Hawkins High, now a high school graduate spending his summer slinging ice cream to girls he hilariously failed to flirt with. She had witnessed a few of those fails, for sure.
But she didn't realize that while he hadn't caught those girls' hearts, he managed to catch her's.

- that summary ending??? yikes, change it plz, but ask first!
- before i start on my bullshit, if you're taking this plot, you're keeping nana as the fc! i will happily fight you if you refuse to use her because, guess what, stranger things (the show and the fanfictions people write about it) massively lack asian representation and i'm sick of it. allie is asian (japanese, to be specific, as is nana, therefore you must use japanese fc's if you want to cast family, but they won't be entirely relevant so no real point) and that doesn't change. that is that, now, let's continue.
- title doesn't change. not one bit. this may or may not have been written while "physical" by dua lipa played on repeat in the background plus that famous phrase was apparently popular in the 80's in workout vids and songs so there's that.
- allie, in several words/phrases, is cool, confident, snarky, nosy and a bad bitch™. this girl would happily kick a russian in the nuts (bonus if you include this at one point in an appropriate scene that actually makes sense and fits the story!) and she ain't afraid to stick it to the man. she is also very much against racists and sexism (two things she's experienced in hawkins) so when she catches dustin and steve, she sees red and decides to tear them a new one after her shift.
- allie works at the workout studio that steve and dustin follow the suspected russian to in season 3 (the name of the studio in the summay is the same one displayed in the show, which was a pain to find!) and if you want, add a co-worker but they won't be a huge part of the story other as this is allie's story and she doesn't spend too long there when you get into the main part of the story.
- allie has a friend called margo (name isn't changeable either and she's played by odeya rush but she isn't a big character other than appearing once or twice but in season 4, she'll be there and more present) and they eat at scoops one day during allie's lunch break and she watches steve fail at flirting. margo makes fun of him to allie, who laughs but is a lil "sis leave his ass alone, he seems sweet".
- allie sees steve and dustin stalking the "russian" and believes they're watching the girls at the studio. she confronts them after her shift ends and when dustin stupidly tells her about the russians (which leads to steve trying to shut him up by slapping his arm becuz ✨ non blood-related big brother tingz ✨) and she humorously joins them, seeing it as one massive joke but claims to be bored then she sees the russians at the back entrance with robin, steve and dustin and has a big ole realization but still does it as it makes her summer interesting.
- she calls in sick for work and decides to stay in the backroom at scoops, helping with their secret code. steve is a lil distrusting of her, robin's okay with her and so is dustin.
- allie does skip the rest of her shift the next day to go into the russian base so that means she's still in her awful workout gear (for a reference pic, look at what emma roberts wears in the screen test for ahs: 1984. that's what i envision allie wears for the rest of the season) now i'm not gonna explain everything here but once you get the plot, you'll learn more through pm's!!
- allie sometimes talks to her in japanese and dustin thinks it's russian at one point so bonus points for a funny scene where she calls him an idiot, she tells him that it's japanese and he says prove it. she doesn't hate him or erica (in fact, i'd say that she thinks the girl is cool)
- she and steve don't really have a romance in this fic, but she does gain a crush on him and if you decide that you want to take this fic into season four (if you do, don't worry, i'll happily help with the plot as i have ideas!), then a romance would happen.
- i'm gonna be picky on giving away this plot as i don't want to see allie end up in the wrong hands so be prepared for me to be blunt and say no.
