SUMMARY

Jennifer Tran and Sue Morales believed they were doing better than everyone in school, with their lack of parties, drinking and rebellious activities.

That was until they graduated high school and realized that everyone in their grade got to where they wanted, with the teenage antics included, which stumped them. Neither expected anyone to actually do decent whilst being a normal teen in 1985.

So, with her great mind, Jennifer decided that both girls were going to try and pack 4 years of missed teenage experiences into three months of summer before going off to college.

And until June 28th, they had been having an amazing Summer. Sue got a job at Scoops Ahoy and was working alongside the boy she had liked all four years of high school, Steve "The Hair" Harrington, who seemed to have become much nicer since his days of being Mr. Popular.

While Jennifer managed to snag a job at her father's workplace, Hawkins Post, helping out with receptionist work and became friends with Nancy Wheeler, through her rants about her father and his bigoted colleagues (which Jenn didn't completely disagree with).

But neither girl expected for the next few days to figuratively go to hell, a week involving Russian bases, ice cream, melting people, fertilizer-eating rats and a mystery neither knew existed until now that had affected a small group of residents that weren't new to this mystery.

A mystery that tested if the girls were even going to survive the week of July 4th.

NOTES

— so if you couldn't tell, this is heavily inspired by booksmart, which is one of my favourite movies of all time!

— sue and jenni (her full name is jennifer but everyone calls her jenni. she hates hearing someone call her jennifer so don't have someone call her that and her being okay with it) are both incredibly smart, but they aren't mary sues! both do have flaws that both help and burden the group.

— if someone does jenni "jennifer", expect her to sternly tell them that "it's jenni" and usually followed by "dickwad", depending on the person (probably is jonathan, let's face it.)

— jennifer is very intelligent and resourceful, which is a plus as she'll have to fight the mind flayer, alongside the gang but she is squeamish, meaning that when she sees the mind flayer for the first-time, she would become nauseous and when nancy & jonathan discover mrs driscoll eating the fertilizer, she should get sick as it's too gross for her. she's a huge comic book lover and will be in awe upon seeing el's powers in use for the first few times, but she doesn't know about them until eleven uses them. she'd probably shout out "holy dud!" (she's not allowed to curse in her house so she never does, always use little nicknames for curse words, like for bitch, use critch or litch)

— whereas sue is a huge soft gorl™. she has a huge crush on steve, always is smiling and she often stumbles over her words whenever she speaks to steve (robin would rip the piss out of her and it would annoy sue but they are still a brotp!)

— sue does have a personality outside of being a soft babe. she's headstrong, protective of those she cares for and independent, but she is quite argumentive and stands her ground. this will pop up when the group are talking about sending erica through the vent. she'll have known the girl from babysitting her years ago and become protective, saying how it could be dangerous and that it's not safe.

— there should be a prologue where the girls are discussing how everyone got into the colleges they wanted and how everyone just partied mostly and that the two girls wasted their high school years just studying. jennifer will eventually come up with the idea to cram as much of the "ideal teen experience" into the months of summer as they can.

— their families won't really make an appearance as they wouldn't really fit into the plotline. but if you cast family, message IunchabIes for faceclaims as camila is brazilian and i'm sick of seeing her being played as a mexican. and lana is vietnamese, not korean!

— i won't say anymore, but i'll happily help you out with the rest of the plot, the ending and how they feel about all the characters.

— that being said, i'n extremely picky with this. i'm not giving it away to anyone who won't do sue and jenni justice and is just going to let it rot in their drafts.
