I watched the girls walk out of the garage, my eyes locked on Chloe. This feeling was too intense and it was making me crazy.

"Those are some strong ass females," Kevin said in amazement.

Youre damn right they are. They had to be, to be around us.

"Yeah...they are. Sometimes, they need the most protection," I replied, knowing that Chloe could hear me.

The altercation with Millie was weighing on my mind and I needed to let the guys know what was going on, plus the whole thing with Elton. Jake and Tara not being here was a problem, but someone would fill them in later.

Pretty sure they were 'having lunch' right about now anyways.

"So, what's going on with you and Chloe right now? Are you dating or what?"

I glared at Sam. He knew that I didn't wanna talk about this in front of everyone. It made me seem...vulnerable.

 I shrugged.

"Not sure. I want to give it a shot but I'm not sure that it's the best thing for her. You know what I mean Sam."

He nodded. "I do. I also know that I have never been happier than I am right now, knowing that Kat is still with me, even though what I just told her scared the shit out of her. There's still the possibility that she won't be able to handle it and I'll have to erase her memory but I'm hoping she stays. I love her."

"She's gonna stay Sam. Katrina is stronger than you think...and she loves you," I replied, punching him lightly in the shoulder.

Kat seemed like this laid back, sweet, chill girl, but I remembered how she almost attacked me when I had hurt Chloe. She was a fighter and probably willing to die for those she loves. I honestly believed that she wouldn't leave Sam. Hell, if she was his One, which I was honestly believing in more and more lately, she couldn't leave him. She wouldn't be able to live without him, even if he erased her memory.

When you compelled your One, it never held for long. A few weeks, maybe a month or two, but the memory always came back stronger than ever.

Sam had never compelled Katrina before and that's what she had been asking about when Chloe and I had walked in on their argument.

"Have you used it on me Sam?" I remembered those words because they cut through me.

I had compelled Chloe...and she didn't remember what I had taken away. That meant she was just another girl, and not my One. Hell, maybe I didn't have one. Maybe the whole thing was bullshit just like I had originally thought. It didn't matter. What does matter is that I care immensely for Chloe, and she was in danger.

Then there was the whole thing of making Millie keep her mouth shut about Elton killing her. Fuck.

"I hope she stays." Sam sighed. "I don't think I can make it without her anymore."

They hadn't even been dating that long but I knew that Sam was crazy about her from the first moment he had laid eyes on her. We didn't talk about these types of things too much. It made us feel too soft and we couldn't be that way with the business that we had to deal with. He did tell me that he couldn't get her out of his mind, he needed to see her all the time, and to be near her.

Her scent drove him crazy, but he didn't want to drink from her...hmm, sounds a lot like what I told him about Chloe. Why didn't he point that out to me?

"Okay, let's get down to business. First things first. Everyone remembers Millie, right? Katrina's friend?" They all nodded.

"Yeah, of course. Who could forget that psycho bitch?" Kevin exclaimed, shaking his head.

"She definitely had some problems." Mike chimed in. "She was...eccentric...and she was obsessed with you."

"It didn't matter how many times we scared her, or wiped her memory, she always ended up finding you again. Are you sure she's not your One?" Sam said jokingly.

I glared at him. "There is no way in Hell that bitch would ever be my One. You know that I don't believe in that shit anyways. Millie just always ended up back around because of Kat...so I blame you for me having to deal with her."

Sam held his hands up. "Brother, I wasn't the one that kept fucking her. That was all on you."

"Yeah, well..." I started. "I wouldn't have kept fucking her if she didn't keep showing up and throwing herself at me. I'm only human."

"No, You're not!" Elton exclaimed, dying with laughter.

I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, that wasn't a good point, but you know what I mean. I'm still a guy. She offered sex, so I took it. Anyways, that's not what we're here to discuss. There's a reason that she stopped coming around and why we haven't heard from her since the night that Elton took her home. Would you like to tell them?" I looked at Elton.

He looked to the ceiling and pursed his lips.

"Soooo, we all know that she caught Colby with another girl. She wanted to make him angry by fucking me. I knew he didn't care one way or another so I got me some but I bit her. She was literally talking the ENTIRE time, and I just wanted her to shut up. Suppose I could've just compelled her..was gonna do that after. Instead I just kept drinking till she shut up. I killed her. I didn't mean to, but I did. I left her body in an alley, not knowing that she had Colby's blood in her system."

"Wait, what?" "Why did she have your blood in her?" "Were you planning on turning her??" Everyone started talking at once.

I held my hand up to signal them to shut up.

"No, I didn't plan on turning her. Hell no! She bit me when we were having sex. She figured out what we were. Guess I wasn't wiping her memory like I should have been. I got sloppy. Didn't even know she bit me."
