I was actually nervous walking down the stairs to see everyone. I'm not sure why though.
"There's going to be a party tonight, just to let you know," Colby said, as he placed his hand on the small of my back, leading me down the stairs.
I was still really weak, so I leaned into Colby as we walked.
"Are you up for it?" He asked.
"What?" I hadn't really been paying attention.
He kind of grinned at me, as we reached the bottom of the stairs.
"There's going to be a party tonight. Are you up for it?"
"Oh," I wasn't feeling great but I didn't want to bring the party down. "Yeah, I guess."
"It's fine if you don't feel like it. We can just hang out in my room or go to your apartment, if you want."
I shook my head. I didn't want to go to my apartment. I knew that I would have to leave soon, but I wasn't quite ready yet.
"No, it's fine. I'm fine. Don't worry about it." I smiled reassuringly at him.
We made it to the garage door and he threw his arm around my neck.
"Ready?" He asked, and winked. "They're probably going to give you a hard time. I've been hearing it for the last three days."
A thought occurred to me. "Oh my God, they heard everything, didn't they?!"
He bit his lip, trying to keep from grinning, and nodded. I buried my face in my hands.
"Oh fuck..." I groaned.
He pulled me close to him, pressing my body up against his.
"Oh come on. It won't be so bad. Remember, I've literally heard all of them too. We're all used to it. Just maybe not so...intense, especially with me."
I blushed, feeling my cheeks flame up as I looked up to meet his gaze. I was not okay with everyone hearing one of my most intimate moments.
"Just try to keep in mind that it's really not a big deal. They'll give you a hard time but worse if they think it's embarrassing you." He kissed me softly on the lips. "Just keep up that bad ass persona that I fell in love with and you'll be good."
I rolled my eyes. "I'm soft now, remember?"
He smiled, flashing his fangs at me quickly. "Yeah, me too."
I laughed.
"Will you two just come in already??" We heard Jake yell from inside the garage.
Colby rolled his eyes.
"Fucking annoying asshole," He replied, but he had a small grin on his face.
They literally fought like brothers but he loved him. Maybe not like he loved Sam, but he still loved him. I could hear it in his voice.
He opened the door, and we walked inside. I kept my head up, vowing not to show weakness or embarrassment, preparing myself for the onslaught of teasing that I knew was coming.
"Well, it's about time! I was beginning to think that you guys were going to just go for round 2 and knock Chloe out for a whole week this time." Jake seemed to be waiting for us to walk in just so he could say that.
Everyone laughed, but Elton...Elton cackled like it was the funniest thing that he had ever heard. Colby glanced at him with a confused expression. Elton shrugged when he caught his eye.
"It was funny. I'm proud of you though nephew. It's about time you let some of that angst out." Elton met my gaze. "Sorry you had to be the brunt of it though. You're pretty cool. I'm glad you didn't die."
Well damn. That was as close as I was going to get to him saying he liked me. Honestly, I felt pretty good about that.
"Yeah, Colby sounded like he turned into a rabid dog! You're lucky that he didn't actually eat you alive." Corey said, grinning at me.
I felt myself starting to blush, but I kept my head up and my face straight.
"Well, I didn't die because I can dish it just as well as I receive it. Don't hate just cuz ours is better than yours," I retorted to all of them.
"OOooooo, go off sis!" Tara exclaimed, as Jake clamped his mouth shut.
Colby sat down on the bean bag and pulled me onto his lap. He had a proud grin on his face. I leaned back against his chest and felt his mouth nuzzle my neck.
The side with no bandage of course. That thing was itchy and it was getting annoying.
I noticed that Mike was the only one who didn't have a smile on his face, glancing at us occasionally with worry in his eyes. Apparently Colby noticed too.
"You got a problem brother?" Colby asked, staring at him, his eyes hard.
Mike looked back at him for a moment.
"Not a problem really. Just worried that Chloe doesn't know what she's in for."
Colby scoffed. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Miiike," Sam tried to call him down. "Not now."
Mike shook his head. "Is no one else going to talk about the fact that he almost ripped her neck open? Or gonna bring attention to all the bruises on her body? I know that we've all had accidents and I get it. I just think you should work on your control more. It'll kill you if you kill her."
Colby glared at Mike while his hand snaked around my waist, pulling me against him. "I'm not going to hurt her. I'm in control." He stated it confidently but I heard his voice tremor at the end.
He wasn't that confident in himself, but I was.
"I'm not trying to be a dick brother. Just worried. Don't wanna lose you again."
Colby's gaze softened a little. I think my bad ass Brock was disappearing a little.
"I know, trust me. I know that I fucked up with Chloe," I opened my mouth to tell him that he didn't, but he must've known because his hand came up covering my mouth. "I won't let it happen again. I won't risk losing her or myself again either."
I tried pulling his hand away, but he wouldn't budge, stone against my lips. So I licked him. He jerked his hand away.
"Did you just lick me?" He sounded shocked, and his eyes were wide.
I couldn't help but laugh a little.
I turned my head to meet his gaze.
"Yes, I did. How about I get a say?"
