I shook my head, and grinned at Elton and Aryia.

"Wish I could've been with you guys. I need a good fight right about now."

I noticed Chloe shiver a little in my arms, so I started rubbing circles on the back of her hand. I assumed seeing the guys all covered in blood and ripped clothes probably wasn't something she was used to seeing. It made me anxious.

I kept wondering what would be too much for her, when she would run away from me screaming...again. Of course, this time it wasn't because she was scared of the vampire life. It was because she was scared that I would keep hurting her.

I watched her taking in Elton and Aryia's appearance. Her eyes were slightly widened but she didn't show any other sign of fear or discomfort.

Chloe was strong. Stronger than any other woman I had ever met. With the exception of Dev, Tara, and Kat of course.

I was biased though, so in my mind, Chloe had them beat too. She was amazing. I vowed to myself right then, that I would do whatever it took to keep her happy, and do nothing to hurt her ever again.

Well, I would probably still piss her off but not by hurting her. She must have felt me staring at her, because she tilted her head up and met my gaze. Her beautiful hazel eyes were more dark blue today, with a strip of green in the center, the ever present orange sun around her pupil.

She gave me a small smile, and leaned up to kiss my cheek. I turned my head at the last second and captured her lips with mine. She relaxed into me and sighed into my mouth.

I loved this. The way she just seemed to be completely at ease with me. She seemed to let all of her problems or worries fade away, just from one simple touch from me.

I hoped that I was able to do that for her, because she definitely did it for me. Nothing mattered as long as I was with her. She pulled away first and leaned into my chest.

I wrapped my arms around her tightly.

"You're up for the job tonight though, right?" Aryia asked me.

I held Chloe's gaze and saw worry flash in her eyes.

Was she scared for me to work a job?

"I don't know. Maybe. I might take a little break though."

Relief washed over her face but she turned her head, trying to hide it from me, I guess.

I kissed her neck, fought the usual urge to sink my fangs into her soft skin, and looked over to Sam.

"You going tonight?"

"Do you guys need me to?" he asked the gang, looking around. "Who's supposed to go?"

Jake raised his hand. "Me and Tara, Aryia, Mike and Corey. Kevin and Elton are off tonight. You guys were supposed to go but we don't, like, NEED you to come.  It's not a big job. Just going to the club and making sure nobody starts anything while Mr. Manchester makes his deal with...whatever the other guys name is." He shrugged. "Should be simple enough. We should actually be leaving pretty soon. We're supposed to be there at 2 am. What time is it?"

Sam looked at his phone and grinned. "1:50 am."

"Huh. Guess we better go then."

I laughed at his dumbfounded expression. It was a good thing that we had super speed.

 I glanced over at Aryia.

"Why don't you get you a blood bag before you go? Recharge since you just got back from the other job. You up for it?"

He nodded and smirked. Cocky bitch.

"Takes more than one little fight to do me in Colby. You know that." He stood up and went to the freezer, pulling out a bag for himself and an extra one. "You want one?" He asked, holding it out towards me.

"Yea-"

I held my hand up but Chloe put her hand on top of my arm, pushing against it.

I put my hand down and met her gaze.

"What is it?" I asked softly, taking her hand in mine.

She looked embarrassed so I trailed my finger down her cheek.

 "Tell me." I insisted.

"Um...You don't have to drink from the blood bag if you don't want to." Happiness filled my chest at her words.

I wasn't going to ask her because I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable after everything that had happened. The coma, the girls, us splitting up for a little while. We had literally just started talking again but I was so happy that she had said that.

I wasn't going to push though.

"Are you sure?"

God, I hoped she was sure. I was so, so sick of blood bags. After tasting Chloe, nothing could measure up to the sweetness of her blood coating my tongue.

"I'm good Aryia." I said, never taking my eyes from Chloe.

"I bet you are," he laughed out and put the extra bag back up.

Chloe blushed, making the smell of her blood stronger to go with the rushing in my ears. After she said that I could drink from her, that really wasn't a good time for her to be doing that. I know that I didn't show it as much, and honestly, it wasn't as hard as it used to be but I still had a lot of trouble controlling myself.

I had just promised myself that I wouldn't do anything to hurt her...but she wanted me to do this so it was making the control REALLY hard to keep.

"You guys should leave," I said, to the guys that had a job.

"Yeah, we're going, we're going," Corey replied, standing up next to Jake and Tara.

"See you guys later," Tara said, waving at Chloe and the girls.

"Good luck, I guess.." Chloe replied, uncertainly.

I chuckled softly and let my lips trail along the soft skin just under her ear. She shivered a little as I closed my teeth around her earlobe.

"Okay, can we talk? I need to talk to you. Like NOW," she said hastily, standing up and pulling my hand.

 I stood up with her.

"Why? What's wrong?"

She was making me nervous now but I knew how I affected her. I could smell it and I loved it.
