The Love of my Life

chapter 23

Ashley's POV:

"Relax, I'm so over you.. I have a new girlfriend.." Auston spoke

"Good for you, now will you please let me get back to my date." I said trying to walk away

Auston said, "Open your eyes, Patrick doesn't love you... He loves the attention.. He is one of the best players in the league. He's very established and he's older, he wants that one special girl on his side, you.. The incredibly beautiful, talented young woman..."

"Patrick loves me.." I said

"He might, but for the wrong reasons.. Look at him over there.." Auston said

"He's talking and having a beer." I said

"He's talking to three women.."

"Yeah, and I'm talking to you.." I said back annoyed

I couldn't help buy glance over and see all the women surrounding Patrick. They were like beautiful models..

"So you see what I'm seeing.." Auston said

"Please leave me alone.." I said super pissed

"Come here.." He said

I started crying and he hugged me. His arms felt so familiar, but they weren't Patrick's.

"I'm not a bad guy, you know that.. I've done some bad things and I'm sorry for that, but I still love you even if you don't love me. I miss you so much and I want us to be friends again." He said 

I looked at him and I said, "I don't think that's a good idea.."

"I promise not to kill Patrick..."

"That ins't what this is about.. This is about our past.."

"We were good together..."

"We were until we weren't..." I said 

We sat down and Auston said, "I miss you Ash.."

He leaned closer and he kissed me. I didn't pull away at first either. I did after a second and I got up and walked away crying. 

I went to the bathroom and fell apart... I made it through the rest of the night and I avoided Patrick and Auston.

I got in the car with Patrick and I was quiet.. I couldn't even look at him..

"What's wrong?" He asked me

"Nothing, I'm just exhausted and I hate those things.."

He grabbed my hand and I couldn't breathe.. We got back to the hotel and I showered and laid in bed. I shut my eyes to keep myself from crying.

I felt awful and I needed to tell Patrick, but he was going to freak and kill me and Auston. It was just a kiss, but I let it happen.

We competed in the skill competition the next morning and I won the fastest for accuracy and Patrick came in second in the puck handling one.

Our families were there watching, which was pretty cool. We were doing the fun shootout and I was sitting in between Patrick and Auston and there was tension and I wanted to breakdown and cry...

After, Patrick and went out to eat with our family. So not the best time to tell him... Auston walked into the restaurant and he came over to us.

"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Hastings, I know this isn't the best time or place, but I wanted to apologize to you for how I treated your daughter and her boyfriend. It was wrong, but love makes you do crazy things. I'll never expect you guys to forgive me, but just know that I'm sorry and I will treat your daughter how she deserves to be treated.." Auston said

"What the hell is going on?" Patrick whispered to me

"Thank you, Auston.." My mom simply said

"Of course, Mrs. Hastings.." He said

"I appreciate the effort, but it's up to our daughter if she wants you in her life or not.." My dad spoke

The Kane'e were looking at Auston and they hated him too.. He looked at them and he said, "I'm sorry for trying to kill your son, but I was jealous of him. He's a good man and a hell of a hockey player.." 

Auston left the restaurant and I started crying and I ran to the bathroom.

I was in the big stall, freaking out... The door opened and I heard a voice, "Ash, are you okay?"

It was Allison. I opened the door and she hugged me and I cried..

"It's okay, Patrick is waiting outside the door.." She said

"Auston kissed me last night.." I said crying

"Did you kiss him back?" She asked

"For like a millisecond.. Patrick was talking to three models and I was jealous and I let Auston get in my head.." I said freaking out

"Damn..." She said

"I love Patrick, not Auston.." I said

"Are you going to tell him?" She asked me

"Yes, but there hasn't been the right time.." I said

"There never will be.." She said

"Patrick loves you, everything will be okay. Your secret is safe with me.."

My sister hugged me and we went back to the table and she said, "We're heading back to the hotel.."

"I'm going too.." Patrick said coming with

My two younger sibling also came with. The car ride was quiet and Patrick was driving. We got to the hotel and I my siblings went one way and Patrick and I went the other.

"Are you excited for tomorrow?" He asked

Tomorrow night we left for Europe.

"Yeah, I can't wait.." I said

I showered and was ready for bed and Patrick hugged me and I knew I needed to tell him.. We were packing up everything and I said, "I kissed Auston..."

"You what?" Patrick asked looking caught off guard
