Mat sat on his couch with his head in his hands, Lane was supposed to be here she had said fifteen minutes what could take her so long? She couldn't have lied she wouldn't do that to Mat. What had happened to her? Was she okay? Mat couldn't help but be worried. He dialed her number again and pushed dial and held it up to his ear. Her all too fimular voicemail screeched in his ear. He hung up and grabbed his hoodie. She was probably still at Adam's house getting screwed. He immediately felt guilty for thinking that. Yet he couldn't help, but feel jealous for who ever was screwing her. Mat obviously still had feelings for Lane, he just didn't want to say it. He got into his car and drove the to Adam's house. When he got there he slammed the door and put his hoodie up around his face so no one could see his face. He walked up the steps and walked into the house to see people from his school and class dancing randomly to loud music. They were all holding blue plastic cups that sloshed back and forth coating them in brown liquid. One girl who was a little younger than Mat shrieked as a boy, Caleb Waltons, put some of the liquid down her bra and licked it up. Mat looked around everywhere for Lane. He just couldn't seem to find her. He came to the kitchen where boys and girls were kissing and being so close they could breath together. Just as Mat was about to walk out he saw a familiar figure with wavy brown hair. Janelle. She had her hands in Greg Fudie's hair and he had her pinned against the counter with his body as they kissed deeply occasionally french kissing. His hands went all over her, from her breast to her butt, to her legs. Fire burned through Mat. He didn't care how he had felt about Lane, he had loved Janelle with all his heart and she just dropped him like dirt when she was probably already screwing Greg. Mat walked over to Greg and pulled him off of Janelle as they both said,
"What the f-" They both cut off as they saw Mat. Janelle had a wild look in her eye that Mat had never seen before. Greg looked like he was about to throw up.
"How could you." All eyes in the room were turned to Mat, Greg, and Janelle. Tears stung the back of Mat's eyes, this may have been the first time Mat would ever cry. Greg's words slurred together as he tried to explain.
"Sorry man she just grabbed me." He hiccupped. "Like she wanted to be distracted." He laughed and went to grab Janelle again, but before he could get to her Mat punched him the face hard, sending him to the ground and hitting his head against the wall. Mat turned back to Janelle. She was crying, her eyes full of tears.
"Mat, I'm so sorry, I didn't think you would be here." Her words didn't slur at all.
"Are you kidding me, what is wrong with you? How long had you been doing that?" Mat's voice was a whisper.
"Six months." Janelle bowed her head.
"You screwed him didn't you?" Mat clenched his hands into fists.
"Mat I'm sorry," She reached out to touch him, but he backed away shaking his head. "Mat!" She was crying now, sobbing. Mat ran out of the room knocking into everyone it seemed like. When he got out of the kitchen he ran out of the house to his car and drove home so fast it would have been a world record. When he finally got home he broke down and sobbed.
