Chapter VIII

Rosé's POV

"If you decided to leave, who will teach Lisa at home? You know, we can't just find someone to teach her somewhere." Seulgi asked as soon as she got her sit.

Our friends are currently here in our home. Including Dahyun's girl. We decided to meet today to discuss something about Lisa's condition and who will be in charge of taking care of while I'm gone.

It's been three weeks since I got the offer. The day after I discussed it with my parents, i told Lisa about it. Ofcourse, I didn't get any responses but I know deep inside, she'll support me.

My flight— our flight, since Jisoo is also coming because she's the top notcher in our school— is in a week from now. So, i really want to fix everything before I leave.

"That's also the main problem. Mom and Dad won't be here for a month. Because they have to go to Thailand to manage our businesses there." I am so damn worried for my sister. As much as I wanted to cancel this offer, I can't. Mom and Dad didn't allow me to cancel it the moment I knew that they were also leaving for a month.

Mom wants to stay. But unfortunately, her restaurants in Thailand need some of her attention. Same goes to Dad.

"We have to find Lisa a tutor and a person who will take care of her while we're gone." Jisoo said while fixing her hair.

I heard Seulgi sighed. "If I can only cancel all my lessons, I will gladly do it just to take care of her. I owe her a lot." Jisoo stood up and sat next to Seulgi to comfort her.

"Me too. I feel really useless right now. Lisa was always there for me but I can't do the same to her." Dahyun started to sniff but then, Sana caresses her back.

The girls promised to us— my parents and I— that they are going to visit Lisa everyday after class. Pero sino ang magbabantay kay Lisa habang nasa klase sila? I'm not forcing them. No, I won't do that. It's not their responsibility, though.

I sighed and sat down on the sofa.

"Do you know someone who you can trust to take care and tutor Lisa?" I asked them.

Sandali kaming natahimik at nag-isip. But not until Sana spoke.

"I know someone." We looked at Dahyun's girlfriend— Sana— who suddenly spoke.

"Talaga, baby?" Dahyun said and looked at her girl with a surprised look.

Sana sighed and faced Dahyun. "Remember my friend who's been looking for a job for almost a week now?" Napatingin kami kay Dahyun na nag-iisip ngayon. Pero nabaling din ang tingin namin kay Seulgi.

"Right! I remembered Irene told me about her. She's Jennie's right?" Seulgi said pointing to nowhere. Sana nodded then looked at me.

"Who's Jennie?" Jisoo and I suddenly asked. Nagulat kami parehas nung sabay kaming nagtanong kaya napatingin kami sa isa't isa sabay napangiti.

That made me blush, though.

Aish! Chaeyoung, this is not the right time to blush!

"Whoa! Soulmate— Aw!" Seulgi started to tease us again kaya binigyan siya ng isang malutong na batok ni Jisoo.

Jisoo then looked at me with her reddish cheeks. "Sorry for that, Chipmunk." I just nodded and smiled. She then turned to Sana. "So, who's this Jennie?" She asked again.

Umayos ng upo si Sana then she started to speak.

"Jennie is one of my best friends. She's currently looking for a job to help her parents dahil medyo gipit sila ngayon so she decided na magdrop muna. Gusto sana namin siyang tulungan ni Irene pero ayaw niyang pumayag na tulungan namin siya financially. Support lang daw pwede na..." based on Sana's story, sa tingin ko Jennie is a good person.

"She's not rich as Irene and Sana. I can't say poor pero ayon sa kwento ni Irene, parang ganon na nga— ARAY! Ano nanaman ginawa ko?" Biglang daing ni Seulgi dahil binatukan nanaman siya ni Jisoo.

That made me chuckles. "Manahimik ka nalang, Kang. Let Sana do the honor to explain." Jisoo said.

"Aish! Oo na. Oh, game Sana."

Sana chuckled then she continues, "as what Seulgi said, mahirap lang sila pero I assure you na mabubuting tao sila. Her Dad is a manager ng isang small fast food chain while her mom manages their small eatery. Hindi kakasya sa kanila yung kita ng magulang niya dahil nalulugi na rin ang eatery ng Mommy niya. Ang alam ko, isasara na ata yon this week eh..." Sana put her finger on her chin na parang nag-iisip then she continues.

"... she has three younger sisters. Nayeon is already in college while Chaeyoung and Tzuyu are both in high school."

"Are you sure na kaya niyang i-tutor at alagaan si Lisa? You know Lisa's current condition." Jisoo asked.

Sana smiled sweetly before she speaks.

"Yup, unnie. Well, you see, in academics. Jennie is a top notcher in our school. Consistent top student since elementary so wala tayong problema sa tutoring skills niya. Sa pag-aalaga naman, panganay siya sa apat na magkakapatid. She's independent. She's taking care of her sisters since she was a kid dahil nga nag-tatrabaho ang parents niya. So, I assure you that she can take good care of Lisa."

Sana suddenly looked at me. Giving me her you-should-trust-me-unnie look.

I gave her a smile after I took a glance at my friends. "Okay, then. Let me see her as soon as possible."

I stood up to hug Sana. She's a great help after all.

"Thank you for your help." I sincerely said to her and give her my sweet smile.

"No worries, unnie."

Jennie's POV

Nakakuha ako ng text message galing kay Sana na magkita raw kami sa eatery ni Mama.

"Bakit naman kaya?" Tanong ko sa sarili ko pagkaupo ko sa isang stool.

Habang wala pa akong nakikitang trabaho, tinutulungan ko muna si Mama sa eatery. Walang halos tao ngayon kaya nakaupo lang ako. Si mama naman busy sa kusina.

Maya maya pa ay narinig ko na ang boses ni Sana.

"Jen!" Agad akong tumayo at nakangiting sinalubong siya ng mahigpit na yakap.

Agad din naman siyang kumalas at hinawakan ako sa magkabilang balikat ko.

"How are you? Hindi ka na nagpapakita samin ni Irene. Nakakatampo." She pouted kaya napatawa nalang ako.

Napatingin ako sa taong nasa likod ni Sana. Si Dahyun.

"Hi, Jennie!" Malawak na ngiting bati niya sabay lakad palapit samin ni Sana.

"Hello, Dahyun! Kamusta?"

"Okay naman." She chuckled.

Pinapasok ko muna sila sa loob para makaupo. Sakto naman na lumabas si Mama.

"Sandali, dadalan ko kayo ng meryenda." Nakangiting paalam ni Mama bago nagtungo sa kusina.

"So, ano yung importanteng sasabihin mo sakin, Bae?" Tanong ko.

Sana gave me her wide sweet smile bago binaling ang atensyon sa jowa niya. "You're looking for a job, right?" Dahyun asked.

I looked at Sana, confused then I turned to Dahyun. "Yes. Why?"

"At wala ka pang nakikita, right?" Sana asked. "Yes, bae. Para namang hindi ka updated." I said na kinatawa lang ni Sana.

"So, anyway. I have a job offer for you. Not only me pala— my friends and I have a job offer for you." Dahyun announced.

Job offer? Ano naman kaya yon?

Parang nabasa ni Sana ang isip ko kaya siya na ang nagsalita.

"Bae, you will be a tutor and— ah, how can I say this..." my eyebrow furrowed.

"And?" Tanong ko.

Nag-iisip pa si Sana nung biglang sumabat si Dahyun.

"You will be taking care of one of my best friends."
