"A crying kiss."

Y'alls I just had a fucking dream that Santa tried to systematically kill all the kids at my school until one kid was like "but I don't wanna die on Christmas" and then Santa sighed and was like "call me Winston" and then he stopped

actually in hindsight that's pretty fucked up what the hell

Lance couldn't explain why he woke up, as it was still dark and a ridiculous time in the morning. He wasn't one for getting up early, so this was odd that he'd wake up at such a time on his own.

Beside him, his husband quietly wept, curled up and turned away as not to disturb him.

"Edge...?" he asked softly, gently laying a hand on his shoulder. "Darling, what's wrong?" He sat up, and Edge did as well.

The ginger wrapped his arms around Lance and hugged him tightly, unable to speak. Lance held him close in a loving embrace as he always did whenever this happened.

"It was one of those dreams, wasn't it?" he whispered. Edge's arms tightening around him confirmed his suspicions.

Though Asvaldur had been arrested and all, Edge still had flashbacks of what the man had done to him, combined with horrors that he believed his father to be capable of. They left him so shaken he couldn't function properly without such thoughts constantly plaguing his mind.

"Oh Edge... I hate that man. I really do."

Edge sobbed softly in his husband's arms while the blond cursed out Asvaldur in German. In his upset state, he couldn't quite keep up with what Lance was saying, but it touched his heart when his man started swearing about much he loves him and how Asvaldur's bullshittery happened to someone who deserved it the least.

He idly recalled Lance's questionable English from when they'd first met, and was proud of how far he'd come. His English was more or less perfect now, although his accent was still a bit strong.

He cupped Lance's face in his hands and kissed him gently on the lips. Lance's furious rant trailed off in surprise, and he kissed back, soothed by Edge's soft lips.

Edge pulled away and smiled. "Thank you, Lance. You don't need to curse out the universe for me though," he chuckled.

Lance looked at him seriously, squeezing his hands. "But I do. You deserve everything good in the world, and I know you don't agree with that statement but I truly believe that if anyone in the world deserves to be happy, it's you."

Edge grew emotional as Lance spoke and hugged him with trouble speaking. "Lance... How could I ever thank you for all you do for me?"

Lance gave him a peck on the lips, looked him straight in the eye and told him, "The best reward is making you smile."
