Rose and Hermione woke up early the next day to see if anyone would put their name in the goblet. Rose took one look at Hermione's bed head, which she normally didn't see as she slept until the last minute and Hermione was already wide awake and ready for the day before Rose was awake, before bursting out laughing. Hermione retaliated by pushing her off the bed, causing a loud groan and a cracking sound to be heard.
"Oh, Merlin! Are you ok?" Hermione asked quickly, getting out of bed. Luckily, their roommates had already left.
"Of course. I barely feel it anymore," Rose admitted. Hermione helped her stand up.
"Right. I kinda forgot about the whole...healing yourself thing," Hermione responded. Rose let out a laugh and ran to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Hermione yelled at her and glared when she exited the bathroom, but didn't say anything and entered the bathroom herself. Rose was fully dressed and was starting to deal with her wild, curly hair when a tap at her window informed her of an owl. Rose let the bird in and it dropped off a letter before flying away. Rose opened the letter as Hermione exited the bathroom, almost completely ready to go.
"Who is that from?" Hermione asked, moving to the vanity to brush her hair.
"Dumbledore," Rose whispered. Hermione trned around, confused.
"What does it say?" Hermione questioned.
"It says that my godfather will be coming to the school tomorrow and that we will be having a conversation with Cornelius Fudge," Rose whispered in shock. Hermione jumped up and grabbed the letter, her eyes reading the words multiple times.
"Why would Fudge want to talk to you and Professor Lupin?"
"I think...I think Fudge knows who my dad is. He mentioned something at the world cup about meeting with me and then how Crouch treated me over the dark mark," Rose rushed out, her voice rising in both pitch and volume. She ran her hands through her hair and started pacing the room. Hermione quickly grabbed her hands and made her stand still.
"Look, I doubt it's anything bad like that. I bet you...I don't know, but I know that you need to stay calm, ok? Being stressed just makes you look guilty. Although, there is nothing to be guilty about, the ministry might not view it the same way. So can you be calm today?"
Rose nodded quickly and took a deep breath.
"Good. Now, how about I braid your hair, how does that sound?" Hermione questioned, her voice soft. Rose nodded and allowed Hermione to guide her to the chair in front of the vanity. Within a few minutes her long, curly hair was in a braid down her back. Hermione smiled at her work.
"I think I might cut my hair soon," Rose admitted as she stood up from the chair.
"Why?" Hermione asked, working on her own hair.
"I don't know...just feels like it's time for a change," Rose said with a shrug. Hermione sighed at the state of her hair before standing up.
"Well, if you need help just ask me," Hermione offered. Rose nodded and the two girls left their room and made their way to the Great Hall where the goblet was.
"You know, I would offer to braid your hair for you but I never learned how," Rose mentioned. Hermione turned to her in shock.
"You never learned how to braid?" Hermione asked, louder than Rose would have liked.
"I mean...Moony would try but he just gave up eventually. He would typically use a spell to brush my hair and everything. He's a great guardian just...not with hair," Rose explained. Hermione nodded, looking slightly troubled.
