This is a continuation of the side story from last chapter which was inspired by admiralwestergaard!!! The image above is the outfit I imagine the carnival man in. For Admiral and others who know who this character is, it's not Mephistopheles. I just love the outfit! I hope you all enjoy!!!!! 😁💕💕💕

Recap

"Hello there!" We turn back to face the voice and an uneasy feeling overtakes me. He has a creepy smirk on his facing looking deeply into my (E/C) eyes. I feel a shiver run up my spine. He calls out again stepping closer to us as he opens his arms wide in a somewhat welcoming manner. "Welcome to carnival!!"

First Person POV

This carnival man worried me and I didn't know if Hans and I should trust him. Before I could tell Hans of my concerns, the man makes his way up to us grabbing my hand and kissing it with a bow.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both." The man small smirks up at me.

I pull my hand back to my chest not liking this supposed 'kindness' he was showing us. Hans squeezes me against his body, his arm around my waist, not liking this man's 'kindness' either.

"We'd love to stay and chat, but my girlfriend and I have to go." Hans says, trying to lead me off.

The man had other ideas. He drops a smoking bomb disappearing from behind us and appears in front of us. "Please, stay and join me for a magic trick. I'm suuure it's worth your while."

I look up at Hans and I could tell both of us didn't want to, but we knew we had to get this man to leave us alone. I turn to him and nod. "Alright, one trick, then we need to go."

The man's smirk grows. He adjusts the front of his red jacket before motioning to his small booth at the edge of all the booths near the trees. It made him look even more suspicious. Reluctantly we followed him to his booth. He grabs a deck of cards off his table and shuffles them. I watch, still a bit on edge, not wanting to trust this man fully yet. He looks at me and fans out the cards with their backs facing me and the numbers and symbols facing the ground. "Draw one." He says with his small smirk still on his face.

I reluctantly reach out grabbing a card. I pull it out and it's the Queen of Hearts, but something doesn't look right... her eyes... they look dead. Her clothing are completely red too, missing all of it's normal detailing. This doesn't look right.

The man then turns to Hans holding out the cards for him to draw. Hans pulls his card and looks at it. His face contorts as he looks at his card confused and a bit nervous.

The man speaks up again. "Show each other your cards, but don't show me."

Hans and I turn to one another and show each other our cards. His card was a king, but.. there was no large suits in the top left and bottom right corners of the card. The only reason we knew it was the king of spades was because there was small little spades in the detailing of the king's clothes. Both of our cards made no sense.

We turn to the man and go to tell him, but he holds up his hand shushing us. "Put both your cards back in the deck, don't forget what they look like."

We were too afraid not to listen, so we put our cards back into the deck. He shuffles the cards doing a few tricks for entertainment, but we didn't care. We were shaking from inside our cores. This man terrified us to no end. After shuffling the cards he pulls a card out with the back facing us. He looks at his card and smirks turning it to face us holding it between his pointer and middle finger on his left hand. It was a Joker surrounded in four large spades. Our eyes widened, they had to be from the king's cards, but they weren't normal spades either. There was red covering most of the spades. It looked like something red was dripping down the tip of the spades to the base. A shiver ran down my spine and I knew this wasn't good.
