"So, on to our other task. Let's get to the cleaning now!"

Jungkook nodded hastily, utterly relieved about that dog finally being gone. A small smile graced his face, he wasn't able to believe he got so excited over something so simple and boring as cleaning.

"The supply closet's door broke, could you hold the doors open while I take out all the supplies? Otherwise it will take too long because the door will try to close itself constantly," Taehyung spoke, gesturing the ravenette to follow him to the supply closet.

The latter nodded and gladly followed him through the kitchen, down the stairs, into the basement, next to the washing machine. Jungkook couldn't help but wonder why Taehyung's aunt kept her cleaning supplies so far away from the living room since there seemed to be closets everywhere around the house.

The brunette knelt in front of the little closet and opened its doors, struggling since the knobs were already removed, curse aunt Hyejin for still not having it repaired.

When he succeeded, he gestured Jungkook to hold the doors, the younger immediately complying and getting behind him, grabbing the doors with his two hands and crouching down so he wasn't in an awkward standing or squatting position anymore.

Then he just silently stayed there and watched Taehyung's now very close back profile and the way the older carefully grabbed all the supplies and laid them next to him. He couldn't help but smile subconsciously while doing so.

About two to three minutes after, the brunette was finally done with sorting out the needed cleaning supplies and turned around to tell Jungkook he could let go of the closet doors.

What he didn't expect was for the younger boy to be right behind him with little to no space between the two of them, literally caging him by holding the little closet's doors.

Taehyung was so caught off guard, it was like he suddenly lost all of his conscience and not a single sound came out of his parted mouth.
All he could do was stare into the other's dark eyes, which were already boring into his, as if he were paralyzed. He didn't even want to look away, there was something captivating about them. A little twinkle inside them that seemed to tie him to the other's gaze.

And then, he felt his heartbeat accelerate and his cheeks heat up out of embarrassment for even being so speechless and flustered. Thank god the basement was only dimly lit or Jungkook would've seen his suddenly rosy-coloured cheeks because that was something he certainly did not want.

Why was he even getting so worked up about this?

None of them had moved a single limb since their eyes had met each other, it was as if they were hypnotized. So, as soon as Taehyung forcingly broke the eye contact, he slapped his chest so the other was pushed back a bit.
"Hey! M-Move away, you're invading my personal space!"

Immediately, Jungkook let go of the doors as if they were on fire and took a few steps back, the brunette could see a sheepish grin playing at the corners of his lips despite the poor lighting quality.

He had a déjà vu.
Of their first conversation, which had basically been Jungkook trapping him against a desk. That moment seemed so long ago and bizarre to him, but he could still remember how he had felt during that moment. Offended, mostly.

And of their second study session, in which the both of them oh-so randomly held eye contact for quite a long time. Why did that even happen?

"Uhh... Let's go now," he then spoke to lift the slightly awkward tension, the other nodding enthusiastically and so, the both of them left the basement with cleaning supplies under both of their arms.
