Den, can we meet? May sasabihin lang sana.
Den woke up with that text from Deej. Its been three months since Alyssa went to Greece and three months na din siyang hindi nagpaparamdam sa kanila. They've been trying to contact her pero cannot be reached na lagi. She might've changed her number. Lahat din ng social media accounts niya, deactivated.
To: Deej
Sure. San ba?
From: Deej
Sa Ateneo na lang. Okay lang ba?
To: Deej
Sige. Ligo lang ako, kakagising ko lang eh.
From: Deej
Sige. Will wait for you here.
Den took a bath and dumiretso na sa Ateneo. She didn't even bother eating breakfast. Never pa kasi siya naka-receive ng ganitong message from Deej and feeling niya importante yon. She knows na hindi nagpaparamdam si Alyssa for the past 3 months so she feels na this has something to do with her also. She drove to Ateneo and texted Deej when she arrived there. Deej said na he's in Bellarmine Field so she went there.
"Hey." Den said. Nakatalikod kasi si Deej kaya hindi siya agad nakita.
"Hey, upo ka." Deej said.
"Important ba? Aga ah." Den said as she sit beside him.
"Uhm, medyo." Deej answered. "You know naman na hindi ma-contact si Alyssa for three months na. No one knows what happened to her. Nag-aalala tayong lahat pero wala naman tayong magawa. She chose this eh." He said and sighed. "Pero kasi before she went inactive on her social media accounts, before mawalan ng contact sa kanya, she told us, especially si Jessey to do this for you."
"Do what?" Den asked.
"This." Deej said and gave Den a picture of a unicorn.
"What's this?" Den asked again.
Deej just smiled. Den probably forgot about the cafe already. Tapos na kasi yun, a week ago and ngayon na nila balak i-suprise si Den with that. Sila na lang nagplano ng gagawin kasi hindi na nga nila nakaka-usap si Alyssa.
"Unicorn." Deej answered with a smile. "Pero bago yan, eto muna." Kinuha niya yung blue na box sa tabi niya at inabot yun kay Den.
I Hate You, I Love You
That's what's written sa ibabaw nung box. Yun yung box na asa closet ni Alyssa. The one she told Jessey about.
"Corny niya, no." Deej said and chuckled. "Open it." He said, so Den did.
Inside the box are all the letters na nakita nila when they were looking for the business papers. Nilagay nila yon sa loob nung box kasi that's what Alyssa wants to happen. There was this one time na pinalinis nila yung kwarto ni Alyssa. They always do it every 3 months just to maintain na malinis yung kwarto niya kahit walang gumagamit. That one time, hindi yung usual na naglilinis yung nakuha nila and these people happened to be more meticulous than the others. They cleaned every single corner they can see, folded Alyssa's clothes nicely and that's where they saw a piece of paper. They gave it to Nanay Elsa and she was the one who read it and told the family about what's written on it. There, they found out that Alyssa was planning to give those short letters to Den when time comes na mag-break sila.
I believe we won't break up that's why I'm brave in writing these. Hahaha. Di mo naman mababasa kasi ibibigay ko lang 'to sayo if we broke up, which is very impossible to happen. I love you, Dennise. :)
That's a part of the longer letter she wrote na nabasa nga ni Nanay Elsa. Things all came in as as surprise for all of them. They didn't know na ganun pala ka-sikreto si Alyssa. Akala nila sinasabi niya lahat sa kanila pero hindi pala. Napakarami niya palang tinatago at kinikimkim sa sarili niya. Kaya naman, they decided na sila na lang ang gumawa for Alyssa. Hindi nila alam kung matutuwa siya pero, yun naman ang nakalagay sa letter. Also, she sent a last message to Kief telling him to do what they want to do with the things inside her room. Parang plano talaga niya na wag magparamdam sa kanila kaya hindi na rin nila pinilit. So eto, ginawa nga nila ang gusto nila sa gamit sa kwarto niya.
