"Ugh! I hate school so much! Why couldn't I just stay at the hospital?!" Sophie whined as she banged her head against her locker. Sophie had been released from the hospital yesterday and sadly, was now back at school.

"I feel you girl but don't worry. We only have a little less than a month left of school," Marella said.

"Wait—less than a month?!" Sophie shrieked.

"Yeah, it's already May and school ends June 1st," Dex explained.

What? Had the school year gone by that fast?!

Sophie must have not realized, given all the drama and events that occurred throughout the year.

"Wow that's so weird," Sophie said. Marella, Dex, and Biana nodded in agreement. "And oh no! That also means we have finals soon!" Sophie exclaimed, already freaking out.

"You can always study with me again," Dex said, spinning around in his wheelchair.

"Thanks Dex, you're the best," Sophie said, opening her locker to grab her things. Sophie's eyes then widened when she realized that there was a sticky note posted on the inside of her locker that said:

We're always watching in the shadows.

Sophie gasped and quickly grabbed the sticky note and hid it in her pocket, hoping no one saw.

"What's wrong?" Biana asked.

"N-Nothing!" Sophie stuttered, plastering on a fake smile.

She honestly didn't want to say anything because she didn't want her friends to worry about her. Sophie could handle some Neverseen problems by herself.

But Sophie felt her body shake and her heart pound as the note's words played in her mind. They were haunting her and Sophie was trying to her best to not let them take over.

She couldn't have another panic attack.

"You don't sound convincing," Biana said, eyeing Sophie suspiciously.

"That's because Foster is a terrible liar," Keefe said, coming up from behind Sophie and slinging an arm around her shoulders. Sophie realized that this was one of the only times Keefe came to school lately.

"That's not true! I w-wasn't even lying!" Sophie stuttered, feeling her face heat up.

Keefe smirked. "There she goes again! Always blushing whenever she is hiding something."

"I'm not hiding anything!" Sophie defended, trying to shove Keefe's arm off of her.

"And now you're in your angry chipmunk mode!" Keefe said, pretending to look horrified. He then turned and faced everyone in the hallway and shouted, "EVERYONE! BEWARE OF THE FEISTY FOSTER!"

Sophie was pretty sure her face was a smoking hot pepper by now. "KEEFE!" Sophie hissed, pinching Keefe's arm as several students sent weird glances at Sophie.

"Ow! No need to get too feisty!" Keefe said, frowning as he rubbed his arm.

Sophie smirked in satisfaction.
