Chapter 97: Awake

Okay now onto the chapter!

Sophie and her friends bounced in anticipation as they waited in the hospital lobby.

"I can't believe this is happening," Biana exclaimed. "It's been such a long time—like a few months of Linh being in a coma. It just seems so unreal that she's finally awake."

"I know, it's going to be so weird," Marella added.

"It's also going to be very heartbreaking when we have to explain to Linh all that she had missed," Sophie said.

"True," Dex said.

"I'm going to see her first," Tam said, moving to the front of the group.

Everyone nodded in agreement. After all, Tam was Linh's brother.

Sophie started to tug her eyelashes out when someone tapped her shoulder. Sophie turned around to see it was Nick. "Hey Nick," Sophie said.

Nick pulled her in for a tight hug. As Nick was pulling her close, Sophie saw Keefe stare their way and quickly look away.

Sophie couldn't think much of it when Nick said, "Stina told me everything that happened ever since you left our house. I can't believe it. Are you okay?"

Sophie looked down and bit her lip. "It doesn't matter if I'm okay."

Nick then gently pulled her chin up. "Of course it matters. I care about you and I can't see you like this."

Sophie then put a hand to her face and realized that she probably looked like a zombie. Sophie tried so hard to keep her tears in as she whispered, "can we just talk about this later? Right now, Linh is what matters."

Nick nodded. "I'll come over later."

Sophie then nodded and hid behind her hair. She noticed Keefe make eye contact with her and he gave her a small smile. She smiled back.

Suddenly, a nurse came up to the crew and asked, "are you guys here for Linh Song?"

Everyone jumped up and immediately said, "yes!"

The nurse nodded and said, "right this way." Sophie and her friends then quickly rushed after the nurse to where she was guiding them to Linh.

After a few minutes of walking around the halls, the nurse brought them to a room and said, "Linh is right in here. I suggest you guys be gentle and don't overwhelm her."

Tam seemed to not have listened to the nurse as he dashed right past her and into Linh's room.

Sophie and her friends waited outside the room just as Tam had requested so he could talk with his sister.

"This is good, hopefully Tam will soon be back to his normal self," Biana said.

Everyone nodded. Then a few minutes later, they heard Linh call from in the room, "you guys can come in now."

Everyone practically raced into the room and shoved each other to get to the front.

Linh giggled. "You guys seem very excited to see me," she said from where she was laying in the hospital bed. Tam was right next to her, holding her hand.

"Nah I wouldn't say we're that excited," Biana joked, wiping the tears from her eyes. Biana then started to walk towards Linh and seemed to want to hug Linh but she seemed very hesitant.

Linh laughed. "It's okay. I'm not going to explode if you touch me."

Biana then smiled and went to hug her friend. Sophie and Marella then made their way over to hug Linh too.
