Seventeen Oneshots

Verkwan 13

Hansol was only a normal high school boy, his routine is usually just going to school, hanging out with friends then
playing games.

"Hey, Hansol!" A familiar face approached him.

"Sup, Wonwoo hyung" Hansol greeted his friend, Wonwoo.

Wonwoo put his arm on Hansol's shoulder. "Listen, I told you about how me and some people are trying to make a virtual reality game right?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Well, you see.. We made a custom VR headset for that game. The headset could mirror everything even your facial expressions" Wonwoo explained. "I want you to try it"

"Alright sure, that sounds fun"

Wonwoo gave him a box, it was a little heavy because of all the stuff inside. "This is the device" He patted the box, "Oh and also" He gave Hansol a USB Drive. "Its a dating game"

"You guys made a dating game??"

Wonwoo shook his head, "Well, Its a first project, we had to release that game first before we proceed on something big"

Hansol nodded, "Youre right.. Okay, Ill tell you if theres anomalies in both the device and the game"

"Thanks, Hansol"

After classes, Hansol immediately went home to try the game. He dropped his bag on the couch then went to his room. He plugged on his monitor and connected the device on it.

"How do I even put this on?" Hansol spent a whole hour trying to figure it out. He had to call Wonwoo but the older was busy.

He tried putting on the device himself. Finally, he got it. He put the USB drive on before turning the device on.

The game started, he was greeted by a text box saying 'This is the test version of the game. Bugs and glitches would commonly occur.'

Hansol continued anyways, "Alright, I just have to explore everything here"

His surroundings suddenly turned black then he found himself in a road. There was some text on the top right saying 'Choose the gender of your love interest' There were three choices given 'Female, Male or Both'

Hansol himself dont really like labeling himself in any sexualities at all. He decided to pick the Both option but it wouldnt work at all.

"Huh, thats wierd" Hansol kept choosing the option but it wouldnt let him. He was about to pick the Female option when suddenly the game glitched.

The options were all gone, he found himself infront of a school. The school looked semi-realistic. It kinda looks like his school in some ways.

Alot of students started going inside the school. Some students are passing through him, the game was testing anyways.

"It would be cool if the background characters atleast notice my presence" Hansol said to himself. He plans to say his thoughts to Wonwoo tomorrow.

While he just stood there, looking around the environment, there was a male student running his way. He expected that the student would pass through him but instead the male student bumped into him.

"Ah, jesus" The student fell down on his butt. "Youre standing in the way dumbass! How are no one com- Oh right, theyre NPCs.."

"Wait, what did you say?"

"I said youre a dumbass!" The male stood up, he brushed the dust off of his clothes.

Hansol was a little suspicious about him, maybe its just an NPC who's programmed to break the 4th wall.

"This must be the tsundere character" Hansol figured.

The male scoffed, "No Im not" He quietly muttered to himself.

Hansol examined the student from head to toe, he just wanted to know if he was a side character or an actual option in the game.

"Cut it out! Youre creeping me out" The male smacked him on the head.

"Ow, alright geez" Hansol rubbed his head. Then it dawned him, how did he feel that? "Woah, This device is cool"

"You bumped your head on the ceiling fan, idiot."

"I what?"

"Nothing! Youre hearing things"

"Huh.." Hansol swore he heard this NPC talking to himself alot. "You must be an option, whats your name?"

"You dont need to know.."

"Why not?" Hansol asked.

The male sighed, "Just call me Boo, okay? God youre annoying" He rolled his eyes.

Hansol found the character cute, he couldnt help but smile. "Alright Boo, thats kinda cute"

Boo blushed, he suddenly averted his gaze. "Sh-Shut up! I dont have to listen to you!" He started running away.

"Hey wait-" Hansol tried catching him but a text appeared infront of his eyes.

'Warning: You have been in virtual reality for %#√÷×¶Π please rest for a bit to avoid eye problems'

The game suddenly closed.

Hansol was confused, "Ive only been playing for 15 minutes, what the fuck??" He took the device off and unplugged everything.

The next day, Hansol met up with Wonwoo at school. He wanted to tell the older about his experience about the game.

"First off, while I was playing, I got a warning even though Im just playing for 15 minutes, and it instantly closed the game"

"Well, we added that but it would just come up if youre playing for an hour, though it also doesnt immediately close the game. It probably just crashed" Wonwoo explained.

"Okay, I see. Kinda wierd, but one of the characters suddenly breaks the 4th wall, I kind of liked it"

Wonwoo was getting more and more confused about what Hansol was saying. He wondered if the younger was playing the same game he helped developed.

"Oh, Hyung, can I have the device for awhile? I wanted to play the game more" Hansol asked.

"Sure, but I could give you an updated version of the game if you want to?"

Hansol nodded, he gave the old version back to Wonwoo.
