Lena

I sat at my desk, leaning onto my elbows that were pressed into the hard wood. I stared at the computer screen, my mind too far away to do any work. I glanced at my phone briefly, and just when I thought Kara was still with Mike, I got a text.

Alex Danvers: Mike is at the FBI agency. He's detained. Kara is okay.

I grabbed my phone quickly, my fingers brushing over the keyboard as if I were typing for my life.

Lena Luthor: What's the address? I'm going to see Kara.

Alex Danvers: It's a secret FBI agency that no one is allowed in without proper authorization.

Lena Luthor: Alright then. Tell Kara that she's having lunch with me, I'm gonna make sure he didn't hurt her.

Alex Danvers: Okay. Be gentle with her, even though it was just a night and a few hours he did that to her... he did some horrible things.

I felt anger arise in my chest, taking over my body.

Lena Luthor: What did he do?! Other than a fucking chip in her shoulder, what?

Alex Danvers: Rape. He already got enough of my fist in his face.

Lena Luthor: That's it, I'm tracking your phone.

Alex Danvers: No! My boss will kill me.

Lena Luthor: Fine. Tell Kara that I'll meet her in her office.

Alex Danvers: Okay.

I grabbed my bag, striding quickly to my office door, then heading down the elevator. I left the building and quickly got to Catco.

"Miss Luthor! Surprise visit to Catco?" Cat Grant asked and I shook my head, still making my way over to Kara's office.

"I'm meeting Kara here. Emergency. Her and I are friends," I simply said, opening the door to Kara's office and waiting for her there. Kara got there in less than 5 minutes. That's weird.

"Oh my god, Kara, you're okay!" I breathed a sigh of relief, and Kara wrapped her arms around me. I awkwardly wrapped mine around her waist and inhaled her scent. Coconut and pine.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Other than the whole... rape... incident.... incidents... I'm alright. His name is actually Mon-El, he's from a planet called Daxam," she spoke and I nodded slightly.

"So much for a secret identity, huh? Tell me, what's your Kryptonite?" I asked her and she froze. Her mouth moved to form words, but nothing came out.

"I... uh... food?" she stuttered out, and I furrowed my eyebrows. Why is it that whenever I bring up something about Superman or Supergirl, or even Kryptonite, she acts weird.

"Alright then... my Kryptonite is just science. You bring that subject up, let's just say the conversation we had before science was brought up... gone."

"Well, I don't know anything about science," she said and I laughed freely.

"How did you get here so quickly?" I asked her out of curiosity.

"Oh, I flew here... on... on a bus," she awkwardly adjusted her glasses, and I just nodded, cracking a smile.

"No, really. How'd you get here?" I asked her and she thought for a few seconds.

"I was already on my way to Catco, since I forgot some paperwork over here," I just nodded and wrapped my arms around her again. It was new to me.

"Still, I'm so glad you're okay. You're the only friend I have here in National City, really. I don't know what I'd do without you," I told her truthfully. She smiled and brought us over to the couch in her office.
