Forgiving, or Not?

Kara

I woke up and the blanket was on the floor. I descended to the floor, letting my feet touch down as if I was just a feather. I could smell the scent of bacon and waffles, and a smile spread across my face. Food. I love food.

I looked over to see Alex in the kitchen, cooking at the stove. She helped as a droplet of hot oil touched her skin, and I laughed to myself, watching her run her hand under cold water. I shook my head and walked to the bathroom, showering quickly and getting dressed in record time.

I walked into the kitchen, and Alex handed me a plate filled with waffles, generously coated with butter and syrup. There were also many, and I mean many strips of bacon next to the waffles. I thanked her with a smile on my face. If anything was to brighten my mood, it was food.

I ate my food in less than 5 minutes, and Alex just shook her head at me. I quickly did the dishes, not before hearing a knock at my apartment door. I grabbed my glasses, not before using my x-ray vision to see who it was. It was Lena.

I opened the door pressing a kiss to Lena's lips. She chuckled at that, and we walked inside, settling at the couch. Alex greeted Lena happily, offering her some food to which she turned down.

"I saw the news. What happened?" Lena's eyes bore into mine. Her emerald green eyes were filled with nothing but pure love and concern, and I pulled my glasses off, setting them on the coffee table.

"I needed time away from Kal, yet he just wouldn't leave so we just had an argument about that. I can only wonder what the news and fellow reporters have to say about that," Alex snorted at my statement.

"Oh, I've got one already. One article said that they thought you were cheating on me with Kal and you and him got in an argument," Lena piped up, laughing on the couch. I couldn't help but laugh at that. Me? Kal? My cousin? Oh heck no!

"NO! THAT'S GROSS!" I yelled, and I heard Alex yelp as she was laughing and I suppose that she accidentally touched the hot metal of the pans. Lena looked over to Alex, grabbing an ice pack. Alex shook her head, but Lena pressed the ice pack to Alex's hand, nonetheless.

"You're so stubborn," Alex complained. I rolled my eyes at my sister, who was stubborn enough herself.

"Well let's hope you never let Lena take care of me when I get injured from bad fights," I retorted, and Alex snorted, her eyes meeting mine. Her eyes had a mischeivious look in them.

"Oh, you bet I'll make Lena take care of you," Alex laughed. I rolled my eyes, and my mind wandered to Kal and I's situation. I had decided to move past it. To give him another chance. Afterall, family is always forgving.

"I'm giving Kal another chance," I spoke abruptly. Alex spun around on her heels, shocked at the sudden topic change. Lena looked at me, her head tilting.

I took a deep breath, composing myself. I was unsure of my voice, "He's family. I know that. My last blood relative... and- and if I didn't give him another chance... Rao... I would regret that. Losing my cousin... so, yes. I'll be giving him another chance. I trust he's changed,"

I nodded to myself, my decision made in my mind. Lena walked over to me, her hands grabbing both of mine gently. Not that she needed to be gentle with me, it's more of the other way around. I looked up, my eyes meeting hers. Her eyes looked at mine right back. I could see her truly.

"You are pure, Lena Luthor. You are good. You are amazing, you are genius, you are kind, you are caring, you are the best thing in this world... my favorite person. Lena Luthor." I had thought that to myself.
