Class had begun and Todoroki couldn't help but notice the niggling feeling in his stomach. Something seemed wrong, something was out of place. And, the fact that Midoriya still hadn't returned from his trip to the bathrooms didn't quite help his case.

Mr. Aizawa had finished writing some notes on the board before turning back around. His eyes fall upon Midoriya's empty set, suddenly feeling a sense of déjà vu from when the boy was fighting for his life. There would be multiple days he'd turn to find the energetic boy but would be met with the lonely chair and table that was practically begging to be used.

Todoroki looked up at the clock every so often, watching as the minutes slowly ticked on - each passing second causing the pit in his stomach to grow. It'd been fifteen minutes already, surely Midoriya wouldn't take that long.

After internally fighting with himself, Todoroki decides to ask for permission to find the green haired boy. But, just as his hand is about to be raised, a loud siren erupts, screaming down the halls as a voice plays on repeat.

'Warning. We have been infiltrated. This is not a drill. Warning. We have been infiltrated. This is not a drill.'

Todoroki's eyes widen as Aizawa instantly begins to put the class into lock down. All the students are sitting on the floor as the windows have large metal slabs falling down, locking them from the outside world.

Aizawa runs to the door, shutting it swiftly before locking it. Todoroki's eyes are wide, everyone in the class is terrified. There's a lump forming in his throat as he looks up at Aizawa, the man instantly knowing what Todoroki is trying to communicate.

'Midoriya.'

The hand is cold and rough, gripping tightly at Midoriya's neck as the index finger dances over his pale skin, barely brushing it. His heart is racing, Midoriya had heard the alarms, he'd heard the warnings. But, here he was; stuck outside the bathrooms with a stranger gripping his neck.

'I'm glad to see you survived. I honestly thought Stain had finished you for sure.' A scrawny voice chuckles, still gently stroking at Midoriya's nape. 'But don't get too excited, I still want you dead. But, I want you dead by my hands.'

Midoriya shivers, his body beginning to break out into soft shakes. The thudding of his heart increases as it nearly leaps out of his chest. Tears are forming in the corners of his eyes; he doesn't know what to do.

'P-Please don't hurt me.' Midoriya whimpers out, shamefully ducking his head as to try and hide his tears.

The man behind him leans in, his head resting against Midoriya's shoulder as his wiry, blue hair brushes Midoriya's cheek. There's something so uncomfortable about the way the male reaches his spare hand up, barely letting the fingers brush against Midoriya's tear-soaked cheeks. Yet another whimper escapes Midoriya's tightly sealed lips, making the male chuckle again.

'Crying? Begging? That doesn't sound like you. Is this all an act? A way to spare time?' The males voice grows more stern, suspicion leaking into his words. 'Show me what you're made of again. Show me how you destroyed Muscular and saved that stupid blonde friend of yours.'

The male tightens his grip even further on Midoriya's neck, spinning the shaking boy around so they were face-to-face. There's a large, horrendous smile plaster on his face, red eyes filled with murderous intent.

'Well? What are you waiting for, Hero?'

Bakugou's ears perk up at the mention of Midoriya. He instantly looks between Todoroki and Aizawa, trying to observe the situation.

'What about damn Deku?' Bakugou snarls out. 'Where is he?'

It's slight panic coating Bakugou's words is obvious. Yet, he still tries to remain calm and cool, refusing to reveal how quickly his heart is racing. The idea of Midoriya - who had no memories - being alone during a villain attack sounded like pure nightmare fuel. There was no way that Bakugou could risk enduring the same pain again.

'The bathrooms.' Todoroki replies. 'He had to go and I didn't want to baby him. I wanted him to have some freedom.'

Despite the expressionless look on Todoroki's face, his anxiety and stress was clear in how quickly the words of defends seemed to tumble out of his mouth. It was obvious that a large amount of guilt was handing over his head, shadowing everything around him.

Bakugou stands up and walks towards the door. But, Kirishima instantly grasps his shoulder, looking at him with wide eyes. 'What are you doing Bakugou, where are you going?'

His voice shook, Kirishima was desperately pleading to not receive the answer he was expecting. He knew Bakugou, he knew how desperately he wanted to play hero.

But right now, things were serious. Even if he has a good heart, one wrong move and everything could come crumbling. This was a situation for the pros; not heroes in training.

'To save Deku's dumbass.' Bakugou grunts out, shoving Kirishima's hand off his shoulder.

'Don't be stupid Bakugou! Leave this one to the pros, please!' Kirishima begs, memories of Bakugou's kidnapping and Stain and Kamino flashing behind his eyes. He was terrified, he couldn't watch that happen again.

'I can't loose him again.' Bakugou mumbles out, voice barely above a whisper. 'If I do, I won't survive next time.'

Despite his voice being next to silent, Kirishima heard every word that left Bakugou's lips. His eyes brim with tears, conflict rising within him. Stopping Bakugou was like crushing his soul, he knew that this was what Bakugou needed; he needed to prove to himself that he could save Midoriya, that he wasn't the monster he'd labelled himself.

But, Kirishima was just so scared. Both Bakugou and Midoriya's lives were on the line here, yet again. There was so much risk to this. Was letting Bakugou heal more important then his safety?

Just before Bakugou goes to leave again, Kirishima grabs his shoulder once more, head lowered. 'I can't watch you do this again.' He whispers back to Bakugou, eyes refusing to meet his friend's intense gaze. 'Because if I do, I don't know if I'll be able to save you.'

Bakugou's heart clenches, guilt swarming him. He knows Kirishima's thoughts, he knows how much Kirishima has suffered due to his selfishness.

But, at the moment, staying in this classroom felt like he was killing himself. Knowing that Midoriya was out there, probably terrified beyond belief and in danger - Bakugou couldn't sit still. If anything happened to Midoriya again, if he didn't make it this time - Bakugou would never forgive himself.

'You don't have to save me this time.' Bakugou whispers. 'I'm going to save myself.'

With a deep sigh and tiny smile, Bakugou pushes Kirishima's hand off his shoulder once more and heads towards the door, venturing off into the unknown.
