Chapter Three
Fireflies

"Lydia?" Odette called out as she ran up to the parking lot of the pool where Lydia stood. "I woke up screaming like a lunatic and went to go to the store bit some how ended up here. And I think there's something floating in the pool and I don't want to go alone." Lydia said and Odette nodded.

"Okay, I'll come with you." She said making Lydia let out a sigh of relief before grabbing Odette's arm as they started walking to the pool area. Inching forward, the girls to make out what it is. With each step, it becomes clearer... a body floating in the water making Lydia tightly grip onto Odette's arm.

"Oh, my God... Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead." Lydia muttered as she crouched down at the edge of the pool.
She reaches for the body, managing to grab hold of the leg, pulling it toward the moonlight to reveal. It's a CPS mannequin making Lydia sigh exasperatedly, "Oh, my God! Are you kidding me?" She muttered as she stood back up.

Suddenly, familiar flashes of a boy sitting on a lifeguard chair when through Odette's mind making her suck in a deep breath. That's when she smelt blood. She glanced around until her eyes caught the giant puddle of blood on the ground and her eyes slowly followed up to the lifeguard chair. "Don't look." Odette whispered making Lydia follow her line of sight.

Perched in the lifeguard chair is the body of an eighteen year-old boy, wet blood still flowing down his clothes from a horribly slashed throat. Lydia suddenly let out an ear piercing scream that made Odette quickly cover her ears.

Stiles's Jeep flies into the lot, pulling in next to Lydia's car, he instantly slams on the brakes and jumps out. "Lydia? Lydia, are you okay?" Stiles asked as he ran over to were Lydia stood, tightly holding onto Odette. "I'm okay..." Lydia nodded before pointing at the lifeguard chair, "That, over there...? Not okay."

Stiles spots the dark figure perched in the lifeguard chair and reaches for his phone and cringes slightly, "Yeah. All right. I'm gonna call my dad." Stiles said and Odette shook her head slightly, "We already called the police." She said making Stiles look at them incredulously.

"You called the police before you called me?" He asked making Odette furrow her brows, "We're supposed to call you first when someone finds a dead body?" She asked and Stiles squinted at her.

"YESSSSSS!" He said making Odette rise her eyebrows and nod slightly, "I'll keep that in mind." She mumbled as he started calling Scott.

"Are you sure?"

"Yep. Throat ripped out, blood everywhere- it's like the frickin' shining over here! If two little twin girls come out of the woods and start asking me to play with them forever and ever, I'm not gonna be surprised."
