Chapter Forty-Four 🎭 Lies Of Omission 🎭
"It's almost like this thing doesn't want to be found." Stiles said as he, Odette and Lydia walked around the preserve looking for the Nemeton. "Maybe it knows we're late for class... Because we've been here twice." Odette said pointing at the mark she put on a tree to mark where they've been. "Crap."
"Can we talk to Parrish now?" Lydia asked making Stiles turn to them, "Hang on- if the Nemeton's covered in bodies, shouldn't you be able to find them?" Stiles asked making Lydia raise her eyebrows at him, "Me?" She asked making him nod. "Yes, you. That's what you do! You're the Banshee. You find the bodies." He said making Lydia roll her eyes.
"Well, the Banshee's having an off-day, so how about we talk to Parrish?" Lydia asked making him sigh, "We can't." He said. "Why not?" Lydia asked and he hesitated for a moment, "Because one of the bodies... One of them could be..." He trailed off making Odette sigh softly while Lydia raised her eyebrows.
"Could be what?"
"One of them could be a clue..." He said, and Lydia sighed, "I'm leaving now, Stiles. I'm going to talk to Parrish and tell him he's the one taking the bodies. It's always better when they know." Lydia said as she walked off making him sigh as he walked over to Odette and grabbed her hand.
"Well, then, he should know... he owes me a Jeep!"

"Hey... I need to talk to you about something." Theo said as he turned to Scott in class making them look up, "You okay?" Scott asked and Theo nodded. "It's not really about me... But it's something I probably should have told you a long time ago." He said and Scott nodded slightly, "What is it?" He asked.
"It's about Stiles." He said making Odette squint at him. "Wait... Do you hear that?" Scott asked and that's when they heard the sirens, "Is that the police?" Theo asked and Odette shook her head. "It's an ambulance." She said before getting up and running out of class, Theo and Scott behind her.
They ran outside to see Corey being taken away on a gurney covered in black blood and mercury. "Mason!" Odette said running over to him and gently grabbing his shoulder making him look at her wide eyed, "He just started bleeding everywhere. I don't-"
"Don't let them do it! Don't let them kill me!"
"Scott, we have to follow them. We gotta protect him, right?" Theo asked but Scott just stood there staring at Corey in shock. "Scott." Odette said, grabbing his shoulder making him look at her, "We have to go follow them." She said and he nodded slightly before they ran off.
"Hey, what did you want to talk to me about?" Scott asked as they sat in Theo's truck, "It can wait." Theo said and Scott slightly shook his head. "If something's wrong, you should tell me. We've all got to start talking to each other again." Scott said and Theo sighed, "This might not be the best place to start, Scott." He said.
