Tom, Haz and I sit in my office going over the furnishings for the Miami resort. I suck at these decisions, so I called in the guys to help. Lucky for me, Haz is almost back to himself since it's been a couple weeks. The night I went to the bar and saw Stassie with those boys changed everything. From that night Haz decided he wasn't going to chase a girl who doesn't want him, and now he is working hard and getting his happiness back. I'm proud of him.
"So we all agree on ocean blue and white?" I ask.
"Yup." Tom nods.
"I still think we need a pop of green but whatever." Haz shrugs.
Yup. He's definitely opinionated again.
"Perfect." I say, closing the books.
"Do you guys want to go get lunch?" Haz asks.
"Yeah, I'll meet you guys downstairs." I nod.
The guys leave my office, and I put my things away, then head to use the restroom before I go.
"God dammit.." I mutter, seeing a small spot of blood on my underwear. My fucking period..
guess that means I won't be needing to use those pregnancy tests tonight.
I know we've only been trying for a little over a month, but this just feels unfair. I wish we would have started sooner because I really just want a baby..
after cleaning myself up, I head down to meet up with the guys, and I get in Toms car. The boys chat as we drive to the restaurant and I hover over Stassies contact. I don't actually want to talk to her.. I just miss having a girl to talk to. Don't get me wrong, I love Haz, but sometimes I get sick of constantly being around boys.
I click the delete contact button, and her name disappears. I will miss her.. but at this point I don't think the version of her that I miss even exists anymore.

The work day comes to an end, and I definitely didn't spend enough time actually working. Most of my afternoon was spent googling ways to be more fertile and how to know if there's a problem. It wasn't the best idea, cause now I'm kind of freaking out. There's so many things that could be wrong that I never thought of. I need to see a professional and make a pregnancy plan as soon as possible.
"George!" I call, and quickly my office door opens.
"Yes mrs. Holland?" He asks.
"Find me the best gynecologist in the city." I say.
"I'll get right on it." He nods, and leaves my office.
I let out a long sigh, trying not to overthink all of this. I really just need to calm down. Everything will be okay. I will get my baby one way or another.
I grab my things, and lock my office before headed to Toms. I open the door and my heart warms at the sight.
"Weeee!" He cheers as he spins his chair in a circle with Evangeline sitting on his lap.
She giggles loudly, making him spin again. This man need a child of his own, he's too damn good with them. He already adores Evangeline so much I can't even begin to imagine how much he will love our baby.
"Auntie Lia!" She says happily when she sees me.
"Sam dropped her off with us for the night." Tom informs me. "She wants to know if we can get ice cream."
"Pretty please!" She exclaims.
"Well duh." I smile.
"Yay! Let's go!" She jumps up and marches towards the door.
I love that little girl. She reminds me a lot of myself when I was little. She brings me a happiness that I can't even begin to explain. I never thought I was a kids person until she came around. Now I can't imagine never having kids. I love them.
"Why don't you go down to uncle Haz's office and see if he wants to come too?" I say and she heads off.
Tom walks up to me, wrapping his arms around my waist and I rest my head against his chest, squeezing him tightly.
"I got my period.." I mutter.
"Oh honey.. I'm sorry." He sighs, comfortingly rubbing his hand over my back. "It's only been a month.. it will happen."
"I know. I just want it to happen now." I frown.
"Me too." He agrees. "But we've got a precious little girl to keep us busy in the meantime."
Just as he says that, Eva comes back, dragging Harrison along with her.
"We're ready for ice cream!" She exclaims.
"Then let's go get some ice cream!"
We go out to the car, and Tom drives us to the ice cream shop. We walk in hand in hand, while Haz walks in front with Eva. It's so funny how Haz and Tom compete to be her favorite, and though I'd never tell Haz, Tom is definitely her favorite. They just have this bond that is so special.
We order our ice creams, and Tom lets Evangeline get three scoops even though we both know she will struggle to finish one. We all sit down at a table, and Haz's eyes go wide.
"What?" I ask.
"Come on let's go." He says, but before I even catch on, a familiar face walks up to the table.
I feel my heart sink, and my hands begin to shake slightly. Why.. after so long.
"No. Absolutely not." Tom says as he stands up, blocking the man from the table.
"Long time no see." He smiles at me.
Derek fucking Kingston. I thought he had moved away.. I thought I'd never have to see this man again in my life. I guess I was too hopeful..
"Who are you?" Evangeline asks and I quickly realize I need to keep him as far away from her as possible. He can't have one of his mental breaks around her.
I can tell Tom is hyperaware of remaining calm in front of Eva but Haz doesn't give a shit. He grabs Derek by the collar of his shirt, dragging him out the door.
"What is uncle Haz doing?" Eva asks.
"Nothing sweetie, I'll go make sure everything is okay." I say, and Tom gives me a 'dont you dare go out there' look but I ignore him, and head out the door.
"Ah there she is!" Derek exclaims.
"When did you get back in town?" I ask.
"Couple weeks ago.. I work with Pierson enterprises now." He smirks.
Toms biggest competition.. of course he works there.
"Don't fucking talk to her." Haz warns.
"Haz. It's okay." I say, and he gives me a confused look.
All these years, Haz was the one there to protect me. I was so insecure and scared, but that was the old me. I'm a whole different person now.
"Yeah Haz it's okay." Derek mimics me.
I can tell his attitude bothers Haz, but he steps back anyways.
"Derek, I feel really bad for you.. it seems you haven't grown up at all." I comment.
"You feel bad for me?" He scoffs.
"Yeah I do. I'm really not scared of this act anymore because that's all it is. An act. You are a child who throws tantrums and I'm not going to let it affect me anymore. So next time you see me in public, don't say hi." I say.
"Look at you.. playing the victim. I was never anything but loving to you. Stop acting like you were treated badly." He tries to gaslight me, just as he always has.
"You don't get to do that anymore.." I shake my head. "So let me make this clear. Leave me and my family alone, or I will get my lawyers involved. Never speak to me again. Ever."
And with that I turn around, and walk back to my husband, happily leaving behind that chapter in my life for good. I will never ever have to deal with that man again, and if I do? I'll get a restraining order.
"Are you okay?" Tom says quietly to me as Eva finishes up her ice cream.
"I'm great. I stood up to him Tom. For the first time in years I didn't let him manipulate me. I took control and I told him to leave me alone." I say.
"I am so proud of you my love." He says genuinely and pecks my lips softly. My mood instantly changes with Tom, because with him everything is okay.
"Ewwww!" Evangeline exclaims and I laugh
"One day you'll fall in love with a nice person and you'll want to kiss them too!" I tease her.
"That's gross." She cringes.
"Yeah it is. Never date anyone ever because then if they make you sad I'll be in jail for murder." Tom says and I nudge him.
"Uncle Haz said that too!" She says and I smile.
My future baby will have the same love and protection that Evangeline has, and that makes me so happy.
I can't wait for this to happen for us. And it will. One day.
