(Song: She's Out of Her Mind by blink-182)

As the day went by I had forgotten what had happened earlier this morning. Lilah and I were in the Ravenclaw common room doing some homework for potions.

"Do you ever think about your life after Hogwarts?" she asks.

I was still writing in my book.

"Like career wise?" I answered.

She nodded her head.

I put my quill down but kept staring at my book.

"I don't know honestly, maybe a writer. I've always loved that," I said, turning to look at her, "What about you?" I asked.

"I'm honestly considering becoming a professor here, I really like potions," she said with a smile.

After thirty minutes of doing homework, we decided to go to the courtyard to get some fresh air.

"What if it was Kingsley who put the curse on you?" Lilah asked as we sat on the grass together.

"I don't know honestly, he didn't have a reason," I replied.

"Now he does," Lilah said letting out a small giggle.

I scoffed at her comment.

Just then I saw Emmy walk by.

"Hi Emmy," I said, giving her a small wave.

She gave me the coldest stare and then proceeded to walk away.

"I'll be right back Lilah," I said in a worried tone as I got up to follow her

Emmy continued pacing down to one of the halls, as if she were late to something.

"Emmy wait!" I yelled after her.

She stopped in her tracks.
"What?" she asked, not bothering to turn around.

"Emmy, if I offended you in anyway, I-"

"Piss off Vera, you fucking knew I wanted to date him," she said, finally turning towards me.

"George?" I questioned.

"You're just jealous right? That he said yes to me?" she continued.

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"George is mine, so just leave him alone for fucks sake," she said.

"Emmy, George is just a friend," I replied.

"He doesn't want you, you mean absolutely nothing to him," she said.

Her words stung like venom.

"We've been friends for years, Emmy," I said in a small voice.

I began to feel a knot forming at my throat.

"Just leave him alone or you'll be sorry," she said while storming off.

I just stood there in disbelief.

Am I really nothing to him? Did she threaten me?

"V, are you alright?" Lilah asked running up to me.

I turned to face her.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I replied.

"I heard screaming though," she said with a concerned face.

"It was nothing," I said while playing with my bracelet.

"Let's go eat," I said, forcing the biggest smile on my face so she wouldn't worry.

We sat in the Great Hall, eating dinner at a table. Those words kept replaying in my head.

You mean absolutely nothing to him.
Leave him alone or you'll be sorry.

"Hey guys, quidditch practice ran late," Fred said as him and George sat in front of us.

"Wood's killing us, I've got three bruises on my arms already," he said lifting his sleeve up.

I quickly got up.

"I'm going to my room" I say as I avoid making eye contact with George.

"But you've hardly eaten, V" Lilah said in a concerned tone.

"I'm not hungry," I quickly replied as I quickly walked towards the exit.

Suddenly I bumped shoulders with someone.

I looked up to see Emmy James standing next to me.

"You really should be more careful Vera," she said in a stern voice.

I quickly ran out of there.

There were so many emotions running through my mind. The feeling of anger towards Emmy mixed with fear. Confusion as to what Emmy claimed George said about me along with sadness and despair.

"Vera?"

I turned to see Ezra standing in front of me.

I don't know what overcame me but I bursted into tears and hugged him.

"What happened?" he asked as he held me.

"It's a long story," I replied.

He sat me down on a bench.

"Emmy told me to leave George alone or else I'd be sorry, she said that I meant nothing to him," I said as I was still tearing up.

"Where is that troll?" he said angrily.

"No Ezra, please. I don't want to complicate things any further," I said as I grabbed his arm.

He sighed.

"I'm sorry Vera, for everything," he said unexpectedly.

"Don't apologize Ezra, I was just being over dramatic as usual," I replied.

We sat in pure silence for a minute.

"Mum and dad love you very much V. They think you're daring, bright, and never judge a book by it's cover," he said.

"Funny how they love me when I have all of the qualities of the houses they hate," I said as we both laughed.

"Yeah, it is, but they do," he finished saying.

I nodded.

"What do I do Ezra?" I said while I was looking down.

He sighed once again.

"Vera, do you think George Weasley, your best friend since you were eleven, is suddenly going to think of you as nothing? Just for a girl?" he questioned.

I shook my head.

"What you do is up to you, but don't you think for one second, George Weasley is going to abandon you. Much less with that troll with blonde hair," he said.

I laughed at his insult towards Emmy.

"I've got to go, I have to meet up with someone," he said.

I looked at him with a confused look.

"And who is that, may I ask?" I asked.

"I'll tell you later," he said as he patted my back.

He waved as he walked away.

Who the hell is he sneaking around with? I wondered.

I sat on the bench for a couple more minutes before I began heading back to my room. I've become lost in my thoughts as I headed down the empty corridor.

"Vera,"

Cedric Diggory said as he stood in front of me.

"We need to talk," he continued.

My eyes trailed to his hand.

In it was that letter.

That damn letter I was suppose to destroy.
