Y/n's pov

I woke up the next morning feeling tired and terrible.

El was missing, the party was separated, Will was still missing and Lucas and Mike were in a fight.

I quickly got dressed and biked over to the Wheeler's, basically sprinting inside and down the stairs to the basement, muttering a quick greeting to Mrs. Wheeler.

Dustin and Mike were there,

but no Lucas.

No El.

No Will.

I sat down on the couch, and Mike started speaking.

"I just can't believe she didn't come back." He said.

"She's gotta be close." I said reassuringly.

"She said it wasn't safe. She just messed up the compasses to protect us, she didn't betray us." He said, completely ignoring me.

"Mike, calm down. It's okay." I said.

"No! None of this is okay! I shouldn't have yelled at her." Mike said loudly.

"It's not your fault." Dustin said.

"Yeah, it's Lucas's." Mike agreed calmly.

"Well, it's not entirely his fault either." I said.

So you're saying he wasn't totally out of line?" Mike asked.

"Maybe, but so were you. And so was Eleven." Dustin replied.

"Oh, give me a break!" Mike said stubbornly.

"No, Mike! You give me a break! All three of you were acting like a bunch of little assholes, and y/n and I were the only reasonable ones." Dustin said, getting fed up.

"Look, the point is, you pushed first, and you draw first blood..." I started.

"No way am I shaking his hand!" Mike yelled.

"Your shaking his hand! You have to." I said.

"Yep. Or be banished from the party. Those are the rules. Do you want to be banished?" Dustin asked.

"No." Mike said.

"Then you're shaking his hand, come on!" Dustin yelled, him and I both grabbing our backpacks.

"Where are we going?!" Mike asked.

"Where do you think?!" I asked, irritated.

"We're going to get Lucas, then we're gonna find Eleven." Dustin said.

I threw Mike's backpack at him, and he groaned and walked up the stairs with us.

——

We arrived in front of Lucas's house, and Dustin rang his doorbell.

Erica Sinclair, Lucas's eight year old sister, answered the door.

"Hey Erica, is Lucas here?" I asked.

"LUCAS, YOUR NERD FRIENDS ARE HERE!" She yelled up the stairs.

"What?!" Lucas yelled at her, coming down the stairs.

Lucas appeared in the doorway, and we all stood in awkward silence until I slightly shoved Mike.

"I drew first blood, so..." Mike said, cutting himself off.

Lucas stared at Mike's hand before speaking.

"Alright, I'll shake. On one condition, we forget the weirdo and go straight to the gate." Lucas said.

Oh, no.

"No way!" Mike yelled.

"Then the deal's off!" Lucas yelled.

Oh, dear lord.
