Y/n's pov

"Jesus." Steve said as we swung onto a side road. "How far is this place, man?"

"Relax." Dustin spat. "We're almost there."

"Edgar must be pretty important, huh?" Robin called back to him. "I mean, if you built this thing and lugged it all the way to the middle of nowhere just to talk to him?"

"And Y/n." Steve corrected Robin.

"I mean, nobody's scientifically perfect." Dustin answered. "But Y/n and Eddie are about as close to being perfect as any human could possibly be."

"Aww." I laughed, lacing my fingers with his as he blushed a deep red.

"He sounds made-up to me." Erica said from my other side, her eyebrows raised. "He sound made-up to you?"

"Erica." I said firmly, nudging her lightly.

"Well?" She stared at Steve.

"Why are you hesitating, Steve?" Dustin hissed.

"I'm- I'm- I'm not!" He said, glaring at Erica. "I'm not. I think he sounds real. You know, totally, absolutely real."

I squeezed Dustin's hand reassuringly.

"Left." Dustin announced suddenly. "Turn left."

Steve looked to his left. "There's not a road here."

"Turn left now!" Dustin yelled.

"Jesus!" Steve said, turning the wheel sharply. "Hang on!"

We were all thrown to the side of the car and into each other as we took a sharp left turn. Erica screamed and clutched my arm for support and I was thrown against Dustin.

"Woah!" Steve yelled as the car flew onto a grass clearing. "Where are we going?!"

"Up!" Dustin yelled back as if that explained everything. In front of us was a large hill.
Weathertop.

Steve pressed on the gas as we reached the base of the hill and began going up, Erica and Dustin both still holding onto me.

"We're not gonna make it!" Robin yelled, falling back into her seat as the hill got steeper.

"Yes we are!" Steve yelled back. "Come on, baby. Come on, baby!"

We got higher and higher up the hill until we reached a certain particularly steep point and the car stopped. Steve hit the steering wheel and pressed his foot harder into the gas pedal.

"Come on!" Steve said through gritted teeth. "Come on!"

"Guess the Toddfather has its limitations." Robin said, turning her head to Steve.

Steve rolled his eyes at her before he cut the engine and we all got out of the car. We began briskly walking towards the top, going as fast as we could while still trying to make sure we didn't trip on anything in the dark.

As we reached the top, I couldn't help looking at the sky. It was a clear night, and the moon and the stars shone brightly, as if they were smiling down at me and telling me everything would be alright.

"Y/n." Dustin called over to me. "Can you turn Cerebro on while I get set up?"

I nodded and headed over to the machine. I dropped down an fiddled with some buttons as Dustin had only a few days ago, smiling to myself as it lit up.

"All right. It's ready." I said, walking over to Dustin. He was on the ground next to the radio with the others, holding the speaker up to his mouth.

"Bald Eagle, do you copy?" Dustin asked, pushing the button and saying Murray's code-name as I stood in the middle of Steve and Robin, right behind Erica. "Bald Eagle, I repeat, this is Scoops Troops, do you copy?"

"Yes, I copy." Murray's annoyed voice rang back through the speakers. We all looked at each other with smiles, sharing laughs of relief that we were able to reach him.

"Call sign?" Dustin asked.

There was a moment of silence before Murray's resigned voice broke through. "...Bald Eagle."

"Please repeat." Dustin said with a sly grin.

"Bald Eagle!" Murray practically yelled. "This is Bald Eagle!"

"Copy that, good to hear your voice, Bald Eagle." Dustin said as I laughed to myself. "What's your 20?"

"We reached the vent." Murray said. "I'll contact you when I need you. Until then, silence!"

"Roger that, Bald Eagle." Dustin said. "This is Scoops Troops going radio silent, 10-10, over."

Dustin turned off the speaker microphone and swelled in pride when Steve patted his back.
