"Thats the last box" I said looking back at Lexi and Jack. It made sense that Shayne made sure he wasn't here. It would have hurt him even more than I already did.
"We will meet you in the car" Gilinsky said as I could see Shayne's car pull up. I started to take my house key ring off as I heard a car door shut. I looked up to see Shayne walking up to me.
"This is yours" I said smiling, trying to not crying.
"It doesn't have to be" Shayne said as he was holding his coffee cup in his right hand.
"I'll see you-" I started to say but realized that I can't say that.
"Thanks" Shayne said grabbing the key from my hand. He walked past me and slammed the front door shut.
ONE WEEK LATER
I was pouring another shot as I could feel a presence behind me. I put the bottle down and screwed the cap back on.
"I don't think you need another one" I heard Johnson say from behind me even with the blaring music I could hear his annoying ass.
"Shut the fuck up" I said turning around to look at him
"When did you turn to a bitch" Johnson said
"Thanks" I said and then I took my shot. Jack took away the glass after I finished.
"Why did you even show up to this party if you knew he was here?" Jack asked and I looked away from him.
"I wanted to show him that I was doing okay and that I didn't need him. I didn't know that he would already be with someone and definitely didn't think that girl would be his ex" I said on the brink of tears as Jack set the glass down.
I could see outside of the kitchen that Shayne was with his friends and his ex girlfriend. She was wearing shorts and no top. She was showing off her lacy highlighter pink bra off to all of his friends.
"Who did you come with?" Johnson asked
"A friend" I said
"Do you want me to drive you home?" He asked
"I'm okay, I'm just going to find Mary" I said as I feel Jack grab my hand. I pull it back and glare at him. I could feel that bad shiver go down my spine.
"Please don't touch me, Jack. We talked about this" I said
"I'm a different person now, Sam" Jack said
"Are you okay, Sam?" Mary asked, I turned around to see her standing there with Jasmine. I bit my lip and looked back at Johnson.
"Can we go home?" I asked and Jack rolled his eyes
"I told you that I'm different. What do I have to prove that shit to you" Jack started to yell, the girls were in shock.
"I don't think that matters anymore. You lost your chance, you didn't have to fuck up but you did" I said as I started to shiver more.
"I was drunk, Sam" Jack said
"Sam, let's leave" Mary said but I felt frozen in my place
"Yeah just run like you always do" Jack said laughing
"Do we have a problem in here?" I heard Mike ask
"We do, that ass won't leave Sam alone" Jasmine said
"I'm fine, I'm going to get air" I said looking at Mark
"Yeah just go, Sam. Maybe you aren't worth it anymore" Jack said scoffing
"You gave up on dressing nice and look at you. You are plastered and you will honestly never get laid again looking like that" Jack said and I nodded
"I think you should leave or I will make you leave" Mike said
"Cool" Jack said and then he left the house. The music was still playing and people were still dancing, kissing and drinking. I wrapped my arms around myself, running my hands on my over sized hoodie.
"Thank you, Mike. I got this handle, girls" I heard Shayne say, I turned to look at him and I could feel the tears slipping.
"You don't need the alcohol and you definitely don't need to take shit from that guy ever fucking again." Shayne said as he push the alcohol away from me.
"I'm sorry, I'm going to go home" I said and he sighed
"I'm not mad at you, Sam" Shayne said
"I only want the best for you" He said
"Well I only want the fucking best for you and I knew that I wasn't the best. I got a lot of shit I'm trying to figure out and you, you are fucking perfect." I said
"You are what every girl deserves. But I got shit to deal with and I can't pull you into this" I said
"Why do you get to decide what I want and need" Shayne said and Vanessa walked over. She grabbed his hand and gave him a kiss on the top of his hand.
"You want to go out to the floor, babe?" Vanessa asked and I looked at him. He rolled his eyes and squeezed her hand.
"Lets go" Shayne said
"You are right" I said and he looked at me, Vanessa was glaring at me.
"Johnson is right also because I run and you are the closet thing to home. You aren't even the closet thing. You are my home. The home isn't perfect inside but it's home" I said sighing
"I run because I know that I don't want a future with anyone else. It doesn't make sense but I know that I have to stop" I said and Vanessa was laughing. Shayne wasn't laughing, I could tell he was thinking.
"I deserve the best and I know that you running isn't the best for me" Shayne said and Vanessa laughed. He turned away and went back to the living room.
"I can take you home now?" Mary asked and I turned to look at her
SHAYNE'S POV
I was in the kitchen putting some trash away. My mind was everywhere expect the party. Most of the boys were in the back smoking as I was just cleaning up someone else's kitchen.
"When did you become a house wife?" Mike asked and I scoffed turning to look at him.
"I told the guys if Johnson ever steps foot in this house again, we will need to beat him to a pulp" Mike said
"It doesn't matter" I said as I went back to picking trash up.
"Don't lie to yourself, plus you knew Vanessa went on a date with another guy and probably gave him a blowjob before she came over. You are here letting her back in your life" Mike said
"Will you shut up?" I asked
"You are an idiot" Mike said
"Why is that?" I asked feeling my anger rise
"Because Sam isn't perfect but she at least she isn't sleeping around while saying she loves you" Mike said
"I was debating on telling you this but I feel like I should tell you" Mike said
"What?" I asked as I put the trash bag down.
"Lacy said that Sam was talking about moving away and going to college in a different state" Mike said
"When was this talked about?" I asked
"A couple days ago, it's a new thought but Lacy said she seemed pretty sure about it" He said
"For some reason Johnson already knows about it and he told Gilinsky that he wanted to move with her" He said
"From how tonight went I think he got the message" I said
"She is putting a restraining order on him" Mike said
"Thanks" I said turning around to face the sink again.
