Synopsis:

Ji Zeyu was a professional at participating in talent shows in his past life. He had real skills, but he didn't have good looks and a powerful backer. In the original novel, the vicious side role had handsome looks and body type, not to mention his famous family background. The only thing was, his brain malfunctioned a lot. Not only did he try to use the 'unspoken rule' on the male gong, Lu Nanyun, but he also pushed the male shou, Wei Yichen, down the stage during a rehearsal.

The night before the debut announcement, his terrible acts got exposed, and he lost his privilege to debut, becoming the stepping stone for the main characters. His past fans even poured sulfuric acid on him as revenge.

When he transmigrated, Ji Zeyu was about to implement the 'unspoken rule' on Lu Nanyun while Lu Nanyun's hidden camera was about to capture everything.

So our MC is an aspiring idol, he's joined many competitions. He has the skills but his appearance is rather ordinary so he always stops at the finals but never made his debut. Just when he is finally given the chance he gets into a car accident and transmigrated to a same-name cannonfodder in the danmei novel his agent was reading.

Cannonfodder was a green tea bitch who was seducing the protagonist gong. At first, MC just wanted to complete the plot, thinking that he'll go home after he finished it probably. Then he finds out the original's background and feels that the cannonfodder was really stupid that he couldn't even make his debut even with all these amazing backers. MC said he wants to make his debut. Rather than go back home not knowing when he'll succeed, he wants to work hard here again. So he throws the protagonist gong (#SPOILER also our ML) away and decided to focus on the competition.

With his honed dance and vocal skills, MC counterattacks in the competition and also became friends with other contestants. He is determined to stay away from the protagonist gong and shou though cos he's afraid the plot will backlash on him since his identity is a cannonfodder. Meanwhile, ML is confused why MC stopped chasing him and started avoiding him instead. However, due to a series of misunderstandings, he concludes that MC must still like him but just avoiding him for some reason. Laters, they start to get along as friends since MC finds out that ML is a good person and MC thinks that he's escaped his cannonfodder fate so he no longer avoided him as much THEN a major plot happened like it did in the book and MC is scared again that maybe everything he's doing is useless and everything will end up just like the plot in the book... so he started avoiding ML again. 

After their debut (book ending), MC finally let go of his heart and get along normally with everyone. They make their first album and fights/competes with another idol group for an Award. Ending is #spoiler their group winning the award.

Extras is about MC's movie, MC's rich second generation identity is exposed. Also MC & ML romance almost being exposed during their live broadcast.

Hmm... it's okay. I like the draft competition, their performance tasks per episode. MC is pretty normal to me, and I can understand his decision to stay away from the protagonists. But since we also see the ML's POV, it is kinda hurtful to be avoided for seemingly no reason. And be preempted by your own friends every time you want to get along with MC (Lololol).

I guess I didn't like the reverse harem vibes...? With everyone being inlove with MC. MC is set up as dense/more focused on the competition so the rivalry between his 'suitors' is not so exposed but its usually mentioned since there are so many of them. I mean, a love triangle is okay but MC is recruiting too many supporting male leads. Lol.

Overall, its a good idol/entertainment circle novel if you're after the competition since the novel is mostly about it, the latter part is after the debut and their first award. But it still pales in comparison to Master Grim Reaper Makes His Debut in Center Position or The Idol Group and the Crown (for me). I still prefer these two~~~
