Synopsis:

Fu Li was a yaoguai from the countryside who had never seen the world. After entering the city, his biggest dream was to become a civil servant and leave his name in historical records.

However... He didn't have a university degree. Not even a high school graduation certificate.

So, even a yaoguai would not be able to find a good job if they didn't study well.

Impressions: Aww.. its over. I really really like this author. This one gave me the same vibes as Very Happy.

So our MC is a yao cultivator who slept for thousands of years. After waking up, he went to the Capital and joined the human world. Our MC's goal is to be a civil servant and serve the people. For that, he needs a university degree, and to study, he needs money first. So our MC started as a construction worker then a security guard until he gets recruited to ML's company.

ML's company is actually the cultivators management bureau. He takes care of all cultivation matters, making sure that the masses don't discover them, and also that cultivators (whether human or yao) will not harm the ordinary people. He soon finds out that MC is very strong (the modern cultivators are too weak), very rich (MC's toys are all treasures to the cultivation world now) and very pure. He lived in an isolated mountain and was doted on by his elders. All his knowledge are from their teachings and from a human scholar that briefly stayed with them. (That's why he wanted to be civil servant) so despite being thousands of years old, our MC is extremely simple/naive.

Then all this ancient yaos also started waking up. Some of them are good and joined the bureau and some of them are harmful and had to be punished. MC & ML work extremely well together and ML...starts cooking MC in warm water. Lol. They eventually get together, then a world crisis occurs. #spoiler MC had to sacrifice himself. He comes back two years later and they finally hold the wedding.

I like this. The summary above is actually just the general direction, there are many twist and turns/underlying plot about MC's real identity, ML's past life, what happened to MC's elders etc. Not sure if all these mythological beasts/yaos where just invented by author-sama or they really all exists in Chinese mythology, but the world building is really great. The life lesson is also good, how the Heaven is...fair. Previously, it was the yaos who are in power, and they frequently destroyed nature/caused natural disasters so they were punished and now, its the humans who dominate but if they continue to harm the world, they would eventually be punished too (Environmental Awareness!!)

I like author-sama's style/the lighthearted way of telling the story. I like MC and ML's characters and the incidents/supernatural stuff they encounter on the job. I like that something small that MC encountered or did earlier will turn out to be useful later cos its such a positive vibe, that Kindness will be rewarded~ Read this for a feel-good novel ^^
