Three days later, at Jen and Brad's house :
Jen : Brad?
Jen walks into the kitchen, seeing Brad's on the phone.
Jen : Oh, sorry.
Brad : It's my attorney.
He whispers, while sighing.
Brad : No, it's just my fiancé.
Jen looks over at him, while grabbing a juice out of the fridge.
Brad : Yeah, I'm available later.
He sighs, before hanging up and turning to Jen.
Jen : What's going on?
Brad : Well, the ruling is set to happen on Wednesday.
Jen : Oh, really?
Brad : Mhm.
Jen : I thought it would take way longer.
Brad : Yeah, me too.
Jen : So, how are you feeling?
Brad clears his throat, shrugging his shoulders.
Jen : What are your odds?
Brad : Well, my attorney just called me to say that the judge isn't allowing the kids to testify.
Jen : What?
Brad : Yeah...
Jen : Well, that's good I guess.
Brad : It is.
Jen : For you.
Jen takes a deep breath, looking down.
Brad : Yeah, for me...
Jen : Mhm.
Brad : Would you rather... have them testify?
Brad crosses his arms, changing his tone of voices
Jen : No...
Brad furrows his brow, as he was expecting a different reaction from her.
Brad : Now, tell me... why does it seem like you're not exactly excited about this?
Jen : Are you excited about any of this?
Brad : Well, considering the fact that I might actually have a chance now, yes.
He widens his eyes at her, waving his arms.
Brad : Jennifer...
Jen : I just think about Angelina, you know...
Brad : Oh, c'mon.
Jen : What?
Brad : I realize that the two of you have found the tone lately or whatever, but...
Jen : It's not about me and her, Brad.
Brad : Then what is it about?
Jen rolls her eyes, shaking her head.
Brad : Angelina will get custody no matter what... me on the other hand...
Jen : I know that.
Brad : The way things are right now, I only get to see them on her terms, you know that.
Jen : I know, I know.
Brad : You know, Jen... this might be selfish of me to say, but I really think you should be taking my side in this.
