Chapter 66, "One Wet Bride".

At Jen and Brad's house :

Jen : Brad.

Jen follows him out to the hallway, while tears press on in her eyes.

Jen : Brad, c'mon...

He just shakes his head, grunting.

Jen : You can just leave like this...

Brad : Why?! Why can't I do that?

He turns around while yelling.

Jen : Because... we have to talk about this.

Brad : What is it to talk about exactly? You said you don't want to marry me so we're not getting married.

Jen grunts as he crosses his arms.

Jen : That's not what I said, Brad!

Brad : Then what did you say?

Jen : I said... I said I didn't know.

Brad : Mhm... right.

He lays a hand on the doorknob, opening the door before Jen grabs his arm.

Jen : No!

Brad : Let me go.

Jen : No, Brad... you can't just leave...

Brad : Yes, I can.

Jen : Please don't leave, please. 

He turns his head as she lets out a cry, before sighing.

Jen : This isn't how I wanted things to go.

Brad : Then how did you intend things to go, Jennifer?

Jen covers her face with her hands, trying to calm herself down.

Jen : I...

Brad : Did you get cold feet?

Jen : No.

He raises his brow, still standing in the doorway.

Jen : Or... I don't know, I got nervous.

Brad : So cold feet?

Jen : I don't know, Brad!

Jen throws her hands in the air, raising her voice.

Jen : It all suddenly became overwhelming... and scary.

Brad : Mhm.

Jen : Can't you just stay, so we can talk about this?

Jen tilts her head as he bites his lip.

Brad : Jen, I get what you're saying, but...

He clears his throat, looking over at his car.

Brad : But I don't really feel like talking right now...

Jen : Brad.

Brad : I just need some time.

Jen stares at him while wiping away the tears on her face.

Jen : But can't you...

Brad : Would you just for once let me go, Jen!

Jen jumps back as he yells.

Brad : I just found out we're not fucking getting married anymore, god dammit!

Jen : Mhm.

He shakes his head, before stepping out of their house.

Brad : You know sometimes you can be so fucking selfish, Jennifer!

Jen widens her eyes as he turns his head before getting in his car.
