The day before Thanksgiving :

Jen : Here we go.

Jen gets in the car, slamming the door behind her.

Brad : Ready?

Jen : Yeah. I've got the paperwork, I've got the... did you remember the masks?

Brad : I put them in your bag.

Jen goes through her bag, finding them before taking a deep breath.

Jen : This is it.

Brad lays his hand on top of hers, before starting the car.

Jen : I just hope everything is alright... you know with my eggs.

Brad : I'm sure it is honey.

On their way to the doctor's office, today is the day they hopefully start the process of becoming a family.

Brad : I can't believe I have to... in a cup again. The things I do for you.

He laughs as she rolls her eyes at him.

Jen : You make it sound like it's the worst thing you possibly could be doing.

Brad : It is! And now it's even worse since you've said no to me for a week straight.

Jen : Well... if you manage to get through today I promise you that tomorrow...

Brad : Really?

Jen : Mhm.

She lays her hand on his thigh, meeting his eyes as she winks.

Brad : Jen, I'm trying to focus on the road here.

Jen : Just thought I'd give you a little encouragement.

Half an hour later :

Dr. Richards : So we've had a look at your eggs Jennifer...

Jen reaches for Brad's hand under the table before he continues.

Dr. Richards : And they seem to be in perfectly fine condition.

Jen : Really?

Brad : So this is really happening?

Brad turns to look at Jen, and then Maria, while grinning from ear to ear as he couldn't be any more excited.

Dr. Richards : If you'd like we could fertilize the embryo and place it in the uterus already today. Or we could do wait...

Jen : Brad?

Dr. Richards : Maria has agreed and said she's on board.

Jen : Maria?

Maria : I'm ready if you guys are.

Jen turns to look at Brad, nodding as the doctor hands him a cup.

Brad : Alright... I never thought I'd say this but I'm actually excited this time around.

They all laugh, as he leaves out the door to deliver what might turn out to be their baby.

The next morning :

Amanda : I'll bring a few bottles of wine.

Jen : You really don't have to Amanda... we've got plenty enough over here.

Amanda : I know, but I have to bring something or I'll feel useless.

Jen : Fine, fine.

Jen laughs, wondering if Amanda will ever stop bringing stuff to every get together they have.
