Chapter 26, "In a Rush."

The morning before the Emmy's :

Brad : Hey Jen?

Walking towards Jen, who's drinking her Green juice and reading the news, Brad's holding his computer in his hands.

Jen : Yeah?

Brad : I have a few adoption agency sites I thought we'd might take a look at. From when Angie and I...

Jen : Oh, that's great... but we don't have to rush Brad.

Brad : No I know, but it can't hurt to look.

Jen : But...

Brad, just like everyone else, doesn't know that she froze down her eggs.

Jen : Adoption isn't really what I had in mind Brad.

A choice she made in case her and Justin would ever consider having a child.

Which they did, but it just didn't make sense at the time.

Brad : I don't follow.

Jen : I froze down my eggs.

Brad : What? Really?

With a trilled look on his face, he sits down on the stool next to her.

Jen : Yes.

Brad : When did you do this?

Jen : In 2013.

Brad : That's great! That's... I can't believe it!

Jen : What?

Surprised by his overly excited reaction, Jen widens her eyes.

Brad : Adoption is really great too but...

He takes her hand in his, about to tell her something she knew she'd never forget when she first heard it.

Brad : You know how I've always wanted little Jennifers running around the house.

Dwelling up, she lays a hand on his cheek before kissing him softly.

Jen : Don't get your hopes up though baby.

Brad : How many did they take?

Jen : Well, I did two rounds... I think about 18.

Brad : We need to find a surrogate!

Jen laughs at him as he rushes over to his computer to find information online.

Jen : Brad, worry about this later! We need to focus on the Emmy's tonight...

She follows him, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind.

Jen : Chris will be here in just a few hours.

Brad : Look.

He shows her one of the websites he's found, while stroking her arm lovingly.

Jen : We can't just go with the first website we find Brad.

Brad : I know... I'm just really excited.

Looking into his eyes, she smiles.

Jen : I'm happy you are.

Giving him a kiss, she walks upstairs to jump in the shower.

A little later :

Jen : When are you coming over tonight? Amanda's coming with me but I think Jason will be here by 9.

Courteney : When will you be back from the Staples center?

Having just gotten out of the shower, Jen's on the phone with Court to discuss the evening.
