The unknown sister

Chapter 3

The next morning

"Hey em."
Maya nudged Emma's shoulder to wake her up.
"Mhmmm."
Emma hummed as she got up and wiped the tiredness from her face.
"I have to go to the station and carina has to go to the hospital so do you wanna come with me or her?"
Maya asked not wanting to leave her alone in the apartment.
"Can I come with you?"
Emma then asked.
"Sure but you have to get ready right now because I have to leave in five minutes."
Maya said walking over to the kitchen to make her green smoothie.
Emma quickly got up and went in her room to brush her teeth and shower.

"Em! I'm gonna be late!"
Maya shouted from the kitchen because Emma was taking long.
"I'm here I'm here."
Emma said rushing out her room with her phone.
"Let's go."
Maya said heading towards the door.
"Are you forgetting something?"
Carina shouted from the kitchen.
Maya quickly ran back inside.
"Sorry, I love you."
Maya said giving her a kiss.
"I love you too, now go else you're gonna be late."
Carina said making the blonde rush out.

At the station

The walked up to the beanery where everyone else were eating breakfast.
"Nineteen! I would like you to meet my sister, Emma."
Maya said introducing Emma to the crew.
"Sister?"
Vic asked confused and so was everyone else.
"Long story."
Maya replied.
"So basically a mini bishop to boss us around whole day huh?"
Dean joked making everyone laugh.
"Don't joke about it unless you want it to happen Miller."
Maya threatened. The rest of the group said their official hi's before the alarm went off.
"Ughhhhh we just got in, are you kidding?"
Andy groaned.
"Okay do whatever you want just don't leave the station okay? I'll be right back."
Maya said running out with everyone.
Emma nodded as the station became quiet after the sound of their sirens faded in to the distance.

Emma explored around the station until she made it to the front desk where Travis was.
"Hey Travis."
Emma greeted sitting next to him.
"Hey Emma, what you up to?"
Travis asked because he was soooo bored.
"Nothing really, I don't even know why I agreed to come to work with maya today."
Emma said rethinking her decision.
"One thing they don't tell you about until you become a firefighter is that there's desk duty and you have to answer calls and blah blah blah."
Travis informed her.
"You know I've actually thought about becoming a firefighter."
Emma said trying to make conversation because Travis seemed bored.
"For real? What made you interested?"
Travis turned his chair towards her interest in her conversation.
"When I was younger there was a fire next door to my house. When the firefighters came they looked so cool with their sirens and trucks and the way they saved the person inside was awesomeee."
Emma exaggerated but she did think firefighters were really cool.
"Well i guess you take after your sister huh?"
Travis asked.
"Yeah I guess I do."
Emma smiled. They sat there talking about all the people he saved and the weirdest calls they had in the aid car for at least an hour. The station got back from their call.

"Nineteen! Good job out there today guys. Vic you're on hoses, Gibson clean the beanery, Herrera you're on trucks, Sullivan you're on aid car and the rest find something helpful to do!"
Maya shouted as she gave orders.
"Yes captain!"
Everyone replied and went to work.

Maya walked over to her office and spotted Emma and Travis talking.
"Em you can hang out in my office while I do some paperwork if you want to."
Maya said as she walked passed them and in to her office.
"Well emma it was nice talking to you, see you around."
Travis said as he went up to the beanery to get something to eat.
"See ya."
She replied. Emma walked in to mayas office.
"Hey."
She greeted as she sat down.
"Hey em."
Maya said frustratedly as she was doing some paperwork.
"I can go if you want me to."
Emma then said thinking it was her who made her frustrated.
"No no it's fine kiddo you can stay, it's just that I have so much paperwork to do."
Maya said pointing at the pile of papers on her desk.
"Okay, I'll be quiet so you can concentrate."
Emma then said as she went on to her phone and chilled with maya.
