Chapter 15: Paperwork

*Few Months Later*

Athena's pov

The first two months of the year flew by in a heartbeat. It's already early March and everythings been calm for the most part. Reberto is still underground no ones heard anything from him or seen him but I still keep an open eye out. "Santo are you ready yet?" I ask him to knock on his door. I mean school isn't the best but he just needs to finish high school. College is optional . "Do I really have to go?" He groans opening his door.

"Yes, now come on, go eat you breakfast so I can take you." I motioned for him to go downstairs as he continued to complain about school. "Babe can you help me with my tie?" Lucky ask as soon as I walk into the room.

Just 5 minutes, that's all I'm asking for, just 5. "Come here" He stands in front of me as I help him fix it. "I just wanted you to do it for me" He gives me a cheeky grin.

I just want to smack it off his face. "Is Santo ready?" He asks as I run my hands through my hair. I'll just put it up in a ponytail. It'll be better than whatever I have going on right now. "Yeah he's ready he's eating breakfast" I give my outfit one last approval.

It makes me look less bloated than I've been for a while. Don't ask me why I have no Idea it's whatever though probably all the late night snacks. "Alright I'm leaving now bye Bambina '' He gives me a kiss before walking out of the door.

Now to make sure Santo is eating and not sleeping. Thank god as soon as I step foot in the kitchen he finishes his food telling me we can leave. "I used to like school but now it's hell" He tells me as I drive to where his school is.

I used to go there. It's not a regular high school, it is private and most mafia members send their kids there. it's rare just to have a regular student at the school. The uniform is awful. I was forced to wear a button down shirt with a skirt and those ugly shoes.

They made my feet hurt so bad. "Why don't you like it anymore?" I swear nobody better be messing with him. "I liked it because it used to be an escape from the beatings but now I get to go home and not worry about anything" He tells me and I smile when he says home.

I'm glad he considers it home. I wouldn't want to feel like an outcast. "Oh you have to go in and talk to the principal" Hold the fuck up what?

"Why would I do that?"

"I forgot to tell you she wanted a meeting with you and Lucky but Lucky had already left as long as one guardian is present"

"Damit Santo you forgot"

"I'm sorry"

"It's fine, come on let's get this over with" I tell him to park their car. I did not miss wearing that uniform. We make our way inside as many weirdos stare.

"Ms.De Luca I didn't think I'd see you again so soon. What can I help you with?" Mr.Boni the principal's assistant tells me as I walk in with Santo. "I have a meeting with Mrs. Costa I" I tell him as he searches through his computer.

"I didn't see anything with your name on it?" No shit it's not going to have my name on it. "I was told I had to come in today because Mrs.Costa needed to talk to Santos guardian" I really don't have all fucking day

"Oh yes please go in, she's waiting for you in her office" He smiles at me as I walk into the office. "Hello Athena, what can I help you with?" She seems surprised to see me with Santos

"Um Mrs.Costa she's my legal guardian" He tells her as I sit in one of the chairs. "Hmm ok thank you go to class now" She tells him, waving him off. That's fucking rude you tell him to make sure I'm hear now you kick him out.
