You paged frantically through Karl's notebook, reading about where he had been, what he had done.
Where was it? Where was it?
Near the very end, you flipped and a sheet of paper fell out of the book. You picked it up and read.
'BEHIND YOU' was written in messy script.
You turned, only to be met with a large red brick, smashing into your forehead.
You fell over, onto the deep void of white, disoriented by the sudden attack. You tried scrambling to your feet, propping your body up on your elbows as the room spun. Warm liquid trickled down your face, meeting your lips as they brought the object down again and again, over and over.
"I'm sorry. I can't have you telling anyone about what I'm doing." A gentle voice and soft hands embraced your body. The sound bounced around in your head, eventually fading out.
"Our adventures have come to an end." He said, taking the book and dabbing his multicolored hoodie sleeve at the blood on the pages.
