Chapter 5: Love

- B-but what about that time you held Lumine's hand...?

- It's called a friendly gesture, Jean.

Diluc replied, looking deep into her ocean blue eyes. 

- And what about when Lumine blushed-?

Diluc chuckled lightly and then said:

- Then that's her problem. I only love you, Jean.

Jean buried her face in Diluc's chest, and hugged him tightly.

- I love you, Diluc.

- I love you too, Jean.

After 1 hour, they both woke up and realised they were both late for work. They got changed, and quickly ran to work. When Jean passed the Dawn Winery, she saw Lumine sitting on the bench beside Diluc's porch. Jean was confused. She decided to walk over to Lumine and ask what she was doing there.

- Lumine... What are you doing here-?

Lumine looked at Jean and blushed. 

- I...like Master Diluc, Jean.

Jean was speechless. 'What? It's only been a few days and she already has feelings for Diluc?' Jean thought to herself. Lumine would be heartbroken if she knew that Diluc loved Jean instead of her. Jean couldn't bring herself to tell Lumine either. So she just nodded and walked away. At her office, she received a letter from Diluc. In the letter, it wrote:

Dear Jean,

I have something to ask you... How do I say this... Jean, will you be my girlfriend?

Sincerely,

Diluc

Jean was blushing incredibly hard. It was very clear that she was going to say yes. So Jean wrote back a letter to Diluc saying:

Dear Diluc,

Please meet me at Good Hunter's on 7 PM.

Sincerely,

Jean

She sent it to Diluc, and continued working with a red face. Jean went home early today. Because she needed to get ready for her 'date' with Diluc today. But just as she was walking home, she saw Lumine. With a frown on her face. Jean walked over to her.

- Lumine, are you alright?

Lumine looked at Jean, devastated. From her face, Jean knew exactly what happened.

- I'm so sorry, Lumine.

Jean was supposed to comfort Lumine, but she couldn't say anything more. She didn't know why. Lumine forced a weak smile, and walked away. Jean felt bad for Lumine. But then she realised it was already 6:45 PM and she didn't even get ready yet! Jean quickly rushed home, and picked out her best dress. Quickly added some makeup touches and did her hair on her way to Good Hunter's. When she arrived, she also saw Diluc wearing a tuxedo waiting for Jean. Jean blushed. And when Diluc saw Jean, he blushed even harder than Jean did. They both sat down. And Diluc started:

- U-um... Y-you l-look beautiful...

Jean smiled and leaned over to kiss him. They kissed until the waiter went to their table and they quickly stopped, embarrassed. They ordered 'Once Upon a Time in Monstadt' and the 'Madame Chicken'. While waiting for the food, Diluc asked:

- So um, did you get my letter?

Jean nodded.

- And yes, of course!

Diluc knew exactly what that meant, and a smile spread across his face. Jean has never seen him smile like that before. And she liked it. After 15 minutes, their food came. The two ate and talked and laughed like they had never before. When they were all done, Diluc (being a gentleman) paid the bills. Diluc invited her to the Dawn Winery and they slept together there. 

The next morning, Jean felt a hand gripping her tight. She turned around to see Diluc hugging her. Jean smiled and hugged him back. But she couldn't sleep. Once she was awake, she couldn't sleep again. So after 2 minutes of snuggling with Diluc, she sat up and was about to go change until a hand grabbed her arm. She turned around and saw Diluc staring at her. She lies down next to Diluc and said:

- I have to go to work, Diluc.

Diluc ignored her and kissed her. 

- Diluc, I'm serious. I have to go to work.

Diluc looked at her and finally said:

- I thought you already finished your work yesterday.

- Yes well...

- Then stay here with me.

Diluc demanded. Jean couldn't refuse. So they stayed like that together for another 30 minutes.
