Mason is leaning on my shoulder as we watch Brett take off his shirt. How can anyone have a-?

"I don't care if he's a foot taller than me- I think I can take him."

"Yeah," Mason mutters, then returns his gaze to Brett.

"Sure," I say while he pulls on his shirt. "God." He's so hot.

"I know," Mason murmurs.

Liam glares at both of us and jumps his gaze between me and Brett. "What do you think you're doing?"

"Getting ready for the game," I answer, and he rolls his eyes.

Mason straightens up. "What? Us? Me?" he blinks and looks at Liam. "Agreeing with you! I'm being agreeable."

Brett puts on his gear and our looks end up back on him. "You think he's hot, don't you?"

"No! No! Not at all! No way!"

I shrug. "Yeah," I nod, and Liam looks back at Brett.

Mason nods. "Maybe- yeah, maybe a little-"

"He wants to destroy me."

"But that doesn't change the fact that he's hot," I answer and earn a scowl from him. "You know what? You're right. The only hot person I'll say is hot is Mason here," I say.

"And I'm not?"

"Well-"

Mason interrupts. "I think you could definitely take him- and then give him to me."

I burst out laughing because I didn't expect this. "I told you I love you, Mason? No? So I'm telling you," I say, while backing away from him toward the field. "I love you, Mason!"

He laughs. "Just go out there and kick their smug prep-school asses!"

"All right," Liam says, pulling me aside to stop eyeing Brett.

"Okay, relax, I'll stop now."

I stretch my leg muscles and see Coach start laughing right in Scott's face. "And, as President of the United States, I'm vetoing that suggestion."
