Malia looks at Stiles. "So, you ran a background check, and all you found was a speeding ticket?"

He wiggles his finger in front of our faces and puts the paper in my hand. "A speeding ticket signed by Theo's dad eight years ago."

"So?" I raise an eyebrow. Did Stiles really spend all morning on this? Dig through some papers just to find a signature.

"Which means what?" she asks her boyfriend.

He takes the paper out of my hand. "Who speeds? People trying to get away from something!"

"Well, how many tickets do you have?"

"Malia, you can't even count-"

Stiles laughs. "None!"

"And in which parallel universe?" I push him.

"How many would you have if your dad didn't get you out of them?" Malia looks at him.

"Seventeen," he says softly.

"I don't know, Stiles-" she pauses, as Theo Raeken gets out of the car. "I mean, I see why you're worried- he's really hot. He's got like great hair, perfect body- you should definitely feel threatened."

"Thank you- because I do- now more than ever."

I glance at Theo. "She's right. He doesn't look bad."

"Don't you have a boyfriend?" he hits me on the shoulder. "I thought at least you wouldn't be drooling over him."

"Be quiet, no one drooling over anyone," I roll my eyes.

"You want me to torture him?" Malia takes a serious look at us. I think she's kidding. But I wouldn't bet on it, after all, it's Malia.

"No, I don't want you to torture him!" he blurts out in panic.

"I'm pretty sure I can take him-"

I watch Theo talking to some girls. "I could help you."
