Johnson looked up as a squad of heli-crafts flew over in a Delta formation. He didn't think anything about them until they stopped less than a click away from their camp. They just hovered there, not moving, not dropping anything just staying in that spot in the sky.
It was times like these that he really wished he had super vision. Instead of even bothering on trying to see what was happening with his own vision, he grabbed his modded, desert camouflage covered, Windrunner M96 sniper rifle, and used the scope on it to spy on the heli-craft. The added bonus to having this style gun is that it was loaded with long range-incendiary-armor piercing rounds that could travel farther than a mile.
This plus the fact that the bullets went faster than sound made it a perfect weapon against fast moving targets. The only disadvantage was its size. The gun it self was nearly as tall as Andrew, but much smaller than himself.
He was just starting to put the gun away when the doors of the stationary vehicles opened, and figures started to jump out. None of them where attached to ropes, or had parachutes. Johnson zoomed in on one of the jumpers. Nothing stood out to him except for the black jumpsuit and an emblem of a sword and bow.
Without thinking he shot his bullet at the jumper. The path was perfect, hitting the man directly through his left ear, and barley made it out the right. Who ever - what ever - these things are could handle some serious stuff.
"Sh... crap." Johnson tried to pick off a few others, yet failed. "Prepare for an attack!"
Andrew was the first to respond, dropping his half eaten granola bar into his pack, and grabbing a small pistol looking gun from the pack. It's shiny sleek black body made it hard to believe it was a real weapon. He fired the gun at the heli-craft, yet instead of bullets beams of energy were released. The shots hit the first craft destroying it instantly.
The second one turned, and Andrew saw the same emblem that Johnson had. "Hunters!"

Even though I had suppressed my powers I could still feel all the energy around me as if I was still powered up. The energy of the plants and animals was all around, and I could easily discern the difference between each living thing. Though I couldn't see it at all.
As we continued to make our way through the forest, I began to sense a change in the flow of energy. The air was buzzing with unnatural energy. It felt more powerful than most metas that were running from Esparonza. More powerful than even her.
"Hunter, what's the matter?" Esparonza had stopped and gently spun me around. Her eyebrows were furrowed in worry. She was biting her lower lip.
I smiled a fake reassuring smile. "Nothing, just a new power."
"No it's not nothing," her eyes stared deeply into mine, quizzing me, searching me. "You're hiding something."
"Trust me, it's nothing." I turned and closed my eyes.
"Hunter, I'm part of your mind, and you part of mine. I can tell when you're lying." Her voice was a strong mix of icy, concerned, and stern all in once instance.
Opening my eyes, I sighed. "And I said trust me. I'm going to try something in a few minutes, and I need you to clear the area. Also see if Genie can cloak my signature when I power up."
Closing my eyes again, I could almost see the energy from the disturbances. I waited almost a minuet until I powered up to my full extent. Suddenly the disturbance became vivid images of sleek black heli-crafts with Meta Hunters in them. Each extremely powerful. They were roughly 2 clicks out from our position.
I could tell that they were cloaking their signatures, yet it didn't effect my view of them at all. They all waited inside for a fairly long time, it seemed as if they were have a battle plan before striking. After a few more minutes one of the Hunters opened the door and jumped with the rest in tow.
