『Chapter ❶❻』

Johnson walked up to me. "Why'd you let him go?"

"Yea why?" Andrew chimed in.

"If we were just like him then I would have." I pointed to my chest, and then at Johnson's. "But I know in my heart that I'm not even close to what he is. Nor do I ever want to be like him."

Johnson nodded. "That makes sense."

"I guess it does." Andrew just looked at me in confusion.

The rest of my 'team' walked back from the woods, where I had asked them to wait for me. All of them looked stunned that Moonblade wasn't lying on the ground. It was almost comical as the looked for him.

I tried to ease their confusion "He's not here, I let him go."

"Did he leave the girl?" Juliet asked.

Johnson laughed. "Yes he did. Come on let's go meet her."

Esparonza looked at the screen. She was awestruck at how easily Hunter had stood. She mused that he may truly become a elite alpha.

Genies voice cut through Esparonza's musings like butter. "Hey you awake over there?"

Esparonza looked at genie. Wondering how long she had been thinking. "Ya, I am... I was just thinking about something is all."

"Well what are we going to do then?" Genie stared at Esparonza for awhile. When it was obvious that Esparonza didn't know what she was talking about. Genie added, "About the disk drive, and Hunter. Plus the fact that he's on his way back."

Esparonza thought for a second. "Encrypt the disk so only you, and I can view it. Then hide it in your room."

"What about Hunter?"

"I'll handle him."

I walked up to the little girl. She was huddled up against a tree. She looked up at me with fear. So I smiled to show I was friendly. She didn't take it that way.

Instead she squeaked with fear, and tried to get as far away as possible from us. She looked like a caged wild animal. It saddened me to see some one like this.

"Ugh, you just making it worse Hunter!" Juliet scream whispered.

I turned to look at Juliet. "You got any better ideas?"

"As a matter of fact I do." She pushed me aside. The little girl looked at her, and stopped trying to get away. "I won't hurt you." Juliet cooed.

"What she said." At the sound of my voice the little girl jumped. She was truly afraid of me.

Juliet shot a look, that told me to go some where else. I shivered at that, but complied. I stayed with in hearing distance of them though.

"It's okay he's gone now." I could hear Juliet pause. "What's your name?"

"Angel. What's yours?" The little girl asked. He voice was sweet, and very soft.

"That's a very pretty name. I'm Juliet, I'm here to tell you that Moonblade won't be hurting any time soon." I could hear the smile in her voice.

"How? He's never done this before." I could tell angel was shocked.

"Well..." I could hear the slight hesitation in Juliet's voice. I was sure angle could too. "Hunter fought against him. So you are now free."

"No if this Hunter won, then I'm no more free than before!"

"That's not how Hunter works. If you want to leave he'll just let you."

"You believe that? Hunter is just like the rest of them." I could hear angel sigh. "Nice on the outside, cruel on the inside. No one here seems to be pure."

"Yes, I do believe that. What do you mean by that?"

"No one is who they say they are. Everyone has secrets to hide, and I can see them." I jumped at this. I knew I didn't have anything to hide, but this was a little unsettling.

"Y... you can? That must be hard on you."

"No it's always there, yet I can control it. But it's harder on the people I'm around." I felt something hit me mentally. "Like Hunter down there is listening in to this conversation right now. Johnson is worried about his little sister. Yet your deepest secret right now is very interesting..."

"Okay I understand. But if you had this power why did Moonblade not... let you free?"

"It's easy, he is too powerful. He would kill me if I tried that."

It took awhile, but angel finally agreed to at least come with us. She was very tired from just lack of trust. I still pitied her, but now I would keep my guard up.

As I walked up to the door with Johnson, and Angel the door opened. Esparonza was standing in the door way looking at us. By the look on her face, I figured I was in trouble.

"Hunter! Do you know how bone headed of a decision that was. To fight Moonblade, one of the strongest metas, right after you woke up! Your lucky you not in a comma, again." Her eyes were ablaze with fury. Yet I could see worry, and possibly compassion. No that couldn't be. She was a warrior, and a alpha.

"Look I just did what I needed to. If you have a problem. Then talk about it in the morning," I was frustrated, and a little angry at her. "That is if you still here."

"Your not getting out of this so easily. You know that right?!"

All the yelling, and talking made angel pipe up. "There's something she's not telling you. Something important... ahh!"

I looked over at Esparonza, who's eyes were narrowed at angel. "Esparonza stop. She's a guest. She may even join us. Only if we're nice though."

"Fine." Esparonza looked at me "But if she goes inside my head again I won't stop." She turned around, and stormed to her room.

Angel just laid there. Fear painted across her face. I wondered what could make Esparonza act like that, or what was so secret that she'd kick anyone out of her mind.

I picked up Angel, and walked her to her room. I made a mental note to ask Esparonza what Angel meant by: 'something important.'
