Alex arrived at school the next day early thanks to Steve and Atlas, they offered to drop her off right in front so she just had to walk inside, make it through a whole day and leave again. As she went to leave the car, Atlas stopped her.

"Now remember, if anything happens ask the reception lady to page one of us, if she says no, bring out the waterworks, they always listen if you cry," Atlas says to her, pulling a jumper over his head, Alex smiled she had brought him that Jumper for his birthday, it was a cool navy Star Wars one.

"What, do you know from experience?" Alex asks sarcastically.

"Love you too," He replies and she rolls her eyes, getting out the car and taking off her jacket. It was a black leather one with the Sex pistols logo printed on the back.

She had been experiencing this since last night, constantly sweating and being warm but then its like a switch is flipped and she is freezing all of a sudden.

She started to walk onto the field when Dustin stopped her, "Hey, are you alright, you ran off yesterday before we could ask anything? Will said it was your story to tell and didn't say anything, but would you tell us?"

"I'm fine, don't worry," she said absentmindedly, walking around the back of school, not wanting to go in yet considering news about the fight is still everywhere.

"So, how are you feeling?" Dustin asked, following behind her as he lost his friends, "would you be up for explaining what you saw?"

She stayed silent and kept walking, then sees she accidentally went right to Max, Mike and Lucas who were all gathered around a bin. She makes a move to walk in the opposite direction but Dustin puts a hand on her shoulder.

"We're just want to know if your alright," Dustin says as Max and Mike walk over, Lucas is a bit behind having just hopped out the bin where he was looking for dart.

"I told you I'm fine," Alex says, not making eye contact and messing around with the bandanna she tied around her wrist, to hide the number tattoo. She didn't like pushing away some of her best friends but she couldn't risk hurting them.

"What happened yesterday?" Max asked, still slightly annoyed she doesn't know what's happening but also trying to get Alex to open up, "You just ran off and like, said nothing,"

She couldn't bring herself to look up at Max, she wouldn't be able to stop herself from explaining everything and breaking the pact with the party. She instead looked to Max's arm, more specifically her forearm where she had fingernail marks.

"Did i do that?" She asked her, already scared about hurting her, She nodded, "Shit Max I'm so sorry,"

"Don't worry, it's not your fault, you were scared and passed out or whatever," she reassures, stepping closer only to have the girl step back.

She instead settled for smiling at her which she reciprocated slightly, looking up properly for the first time this whole conversation. She felt bad for Max because she stayed around the group, even if she was constantly left in the dark but Alex just took it as another sign she needs to stay away from them, to protect them.

They knew she was strong before hand, having seen her defend them by roughing up the most popular girl in Hawkins middle in front of the whole school and sending her to the hospital. But now they knew her secret and it made them a tiny bit more scared than they were twelve hours ago.
