All of them sat around a bench in the trailer park, it was opposite Rocky's trailer and Max had noticed Alex had gone tense and quieter than her usual self. Steve and Dustin were filling Nancy in on what they knew.

"So your saying that this thing that killed Chrissy and then Fred, it's from the upside down?" Nancy asked quietly, trying to wrap her head around what the pair were explaining.

"If the shoe fits," Steve nodded, looking across to his sister who wasn't paying attention in the slightest and playing with that fucking lighter again.

"Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or.... or a curse. Now, whether or not he's doing the bidding of the mind flayer or just loves killing teens, we don't know." Dustin explains to the older girl as Alex cursed as she caught her shirt on the flame, quickly hitting herself to put it out. The others rolled their eyes at her and went back to their conversation.

"All we know is this is something different, something new," she said rather ominously, shifting in her seat.

"It doesn't make sense," Nancy said, shaking her head.

"It's only a theory," Dustin tells her, trying to clear her confusion as he built up a plan.

"No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense," Nancy rephrases, making the group catch on, "I mean, why them specifically?"

"Its probably random, I mean, Why Heather? Why Barb? Billy? Me?" Alex speaks up, "It was all random before, why think there is a reasoning now. Chances are wrong place, wrong time."

The girl raised a good argument, before nothing seemed targeted, but now, what if it was different, it was already more brutal.

"They were both at the game though," Dustin says, trying to pick up on similarities.

"And near the trailer park," Max realises out loud.

Alex bit her lip, she had been in both places at the same time as Chrissy, did that put her at risk as well?

"We're at the trailer park!" Steve exclaimed, looking around the trailer park a little uneasy, the group with similar expressions, "Uh, maybe we shouldn't be here?"

"There is something about this place," Nancy says, eyes focused on the yellow caution tape around. "Fred started acting weird as soon as we pulled in."

"Acting weird as in...?" Robin asked.

"Scared, on edge, sad," Nancy described, shaking her head as she remembered how Fred was acting when the officer stopped their car, and then again as they pulled in fully.

"Max also said Chrissy was upset," Dustin adds, trying to find the connections.

"Yeah, but not here," Max quickly disagrees, "She was crying in the bathrooms at school."

"Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right?" Robin asks them all, earning a few nods, "So, maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this Vecman-"

"Vecna,"

Everyone ignored Dustin correction as Steve hummed, "I dunno about you, but if i saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone," Steve says to them, thinking out loud.
